Does anyone know what the lick Robben worked out for this scale? He showcases it here, at 5:35: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wee-U1fWQQI

I'm having a hard time hearing the notest in the video to ...

Is it me, or is Robben getting credit for writing "You Drive A Hard Bargain", when Albert King recorded it year before? Who actually wrote it?

The tune is totally diatonic, except for the F#7. B minor is relative to D Major. Play the D Major scale over the whole tune (same as B natural minor), as the G chord is GMaj7, diatonic to the key, an ...

I'd heard that they may do a disc together. That would be friggin' amazing. Both of these players tend toward blues, but have incredible vocabulary through jazz scales and great jazz concepts. Scofiel ...

You're right about this. It's the Ab diminished scale. However, if you look at it from the G, you still have a G diminished chord in there, so it's sometimes considered G diminished scale. Confusing? ...

The chord is definitely a GMaj7. The F#7 might sound a bit odd, as the G# is a it outside of the key, at least next to the G chord. G Lydian sounds good over the GMaj7 chord. B Harmonic Minor would wo ...

I remember reading somewhere many years ago that the Yellowjackets had originally been put together to be the back-up band for Al Jarreau, but I can't find any hint of this online. Anyone know anythin ...

It looks like the Esprit is missing the coil tap switch. Robben was using that heavily when he played the House Of Blues here in Boston, back in the Signature Model days. This was the tour for Tiger W ...

I've listened to that section over and over(pretty loud, as well) and there's nothing there unusual. The line is "don't you know how the wheel goes 'round", and there is a slight bit of syncopation at ...

Well, I agree that I like the new disc. I just don't love it though. Badge is one of my favorite tunes, but I don't see that Robben did anything unique with it. I'll bet it will be kick-ass live, but ...

I think Robben should allow recordings at his shows, as well. I understand that he doesn't make money off of tapers, but he'd certainly widen his fan base! Look what it does for Phish, the Funky Meter ...

I can understand the problem with flash photography. I just wish he'd change his policy on taping. There's a whole fan base that trade recordings of bands that allow taping, such as the Funky Meters, ...

I'd like to suggest that Robben get someone to be more on top of the website. Seems like every so often, the splash page change with some pretty cool Flash thing, but the content after the page is kin ...
