To be fair I agree with a lot of the comments - they mostly point out that Robben's playing and tone are great, but the band's version of the song is not great - it does sound a bit like a bar band ve ...

Not sure how helpful this is - my main axe is a 137 Classic - quite a chunky neck but it feels great to play - I had it re-fretted with jumbo frets and swapped the pickups for some Harmonic Design hum ...

The speakers died in my '73 Twin so I replaced them with the G1265s - to be honest I didn't have the amp long enough to really feel familiar with the sound prior to the speaker swap, in order to be ab ...

My favourite extension chord is Dm13.

But if we're talking about extension cords, then why not buy a normal multiplug extension lead from home depot, attach it to your pedalboard, cut the cable so ...

It's probably actually Volker's amp that he's borrowing for the gig - I would imagine that there isn't a zendrive used with it.

I could be totally wrong though (as usual)

I've just got a '73 silverface twin which has the stock blue-labelled Fender speakers - I was wondering what the tonal changes would be if I replaced them with a pair of the G12-65s?

I could be completely wrong but I was under the impression that Gene Baker was the main designer for the Robben Ford signature Esprit and that when he left Fender, Robben went with him and started usi ...

Er... OK... How exactly can we change the fates by getting Robben's planned work with Michael McDonald, Bill Evans and Larry Carlton to end up on the same album? Because that's band I'd KILL to see! I ...

Matt Schofield to me has his own distinct sound and style which is influenced by Robben but I think that he is far from a clone. You can hear a lot of influences in him from other people but since mos ...

I know Robben really rates Matt Schofield but am I alone in thinking that he sounds a bit too much like a Robben clone?

They are also playing at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center in Santa Cruz on Tuesday, January 12th.

Robben's site has no information about any of these dates as of a couple of hours ago. But that doesn't surp ...

I'm actually really looking forward to a bit of a change from Robben - I really like the Jing Chi albums and the Supernatural album, so a change from the blues band to a more diverse range of music in ...

Exactly right. Some guy on "The Gearpage" tried to compare Robben's slide playing to Sonny Landreth's and I had to point out that Robben did that over 20 years ago and that I would bet that ...

I can't speak for Daved, but the traditional approach would be to put any delay & modulation pedals in the loop, so that they come after any gain added from the amp's pre-amp (in general it sounds ...
