Hey folks,
I don't know if you knew, but Ted Greene (Chord Chemistry, Solo Guitar parts 1 and 2) passed away last weekend. I know he had an influence on my knowledge of harmony. There is a tribute page which i'm sure you can reach by just typing in his name. Any thoughts from you folks?

This is a real shame. I had his books back in the 70s when I was starting out and his approach was (and still is) very unique as well as effective. Just the other day I was thinking about picking up a new copy of Chord Chemistry.

Confused
I can't find one bit of info on his passing. Strange. Where did you read this? Sad, he was too young.

Wow, I'm really sad to hear that. In 1979, when I was 18, I was sick in bed with the chicken pox for two weeks. I read Chord Chemistry from cover to cover. It really changed my whole attitude about playing. I realized that I didn't know dick about chords or harmony, etc. I then decided to study Jazz with a local teacher and eventually moved to LA and went to GIT. Chord Chemistry was my introduction into really learning how to play

I was lucky to know and study with Ted for over 20 years. i was also lucky enbough to call him friend. He was the kindest soul, the best teacher and the best musician, let alone guitar player, that i have ever known.
