Thanks Daved. I feel better about it, too. I love the show and I'd hate to think that you guys were getting ripped off. BTW, the camera caught you several times, too. We get a quick glimpse of you working at your bench in one.

|
|
Hey guys,
I finaly got myself the New Morging DVD at home after a search for more then a month !
I got to tell that the concert is very nice and really full of guitarwork by Robben Ford, but..........
I don't like the tone of the telecaster and Fender !
It's a little flat......
But....the voice is perfect and musicians are really perfect......
So, I will see the DVD a few times more and I'm sure that I'll like it a lot more !
Sorry.............(mixed feelings)
Greetings,
Fill from Brussels _________________ Filmore |

Yeah, I like the concert, but it's definitely not the best Robben's tones for me either... |

I've just bought the DVD and it's a killer. Funky man, funky....
The Telecaster rips! I love that sound.
I actually saw this line-up...I think it was 2001 or something like that. It was just after the Supernatural release. There is a killer Nothing to NObody version. Jimmy Earl is a cool dude.
Recommended.

As I already stated- I was there and the tone was killing, only a slight remember of it on DVD. That strenghtens my believe that it is not so easy to record this Dumble sound. RF's tone is well balanced between crunchy mids and punchy bass but on recordings it often tends to be a bit harsh. |

I enjoy the DVD very much. I like everything about it -- the concert video and interview are wonderful ! I think it's great that the cameras catch so much of what was happening on stage. Did you see the drummer drop his drum stick ? I love it! _________________ Travelling by train of thought |

I like the look on the drummer's face - and the fact that he recovers so well. Jimmie Earl's playing is awesome, too. Anybody have any idea why he licks his fingers when he plays? If you watch, you'll see him touch the fingers of his right hand to his tongue. Does that give a better grip on the strings, or maybe a better feel? Whatever it is, it seems to work for him. The whole band is really cooking on this DVD.

I hope that the "to be continued" at the end of the interview means that eventually the Ohne Filter concert fron 1997 will be released on DVD. This concert was even better than this Paris Concert. A lot of songs from Tigerwalk with a killer band!! Robben plays the tele all through the concert exept for the Tigerwalk title song. For this tune he usues an old strat! I know some people already saw the TV registration of this concert. They will agree this MUST be released on DVD!!! _________________ "Don't play what's there, play what's not there" Miles Davis |

You have my vote.
The band on the Ohne Filter one is amazing. They're so funky and tight, especially the bass player with that wicked haircut. The first track "Lady with a Cello..." just blew me away when I first saw it.
Contrary to a lot of opinions, I actually prefer the guitar work on the Paris DVD. I seem to like the style Robben majored on at the time of the Supernatural CD. Both style and tone are 110% in my books. The Tiger Walk Ohne Filter video is ace as well, much better than the "official" Ohne DVD.

What DVD is this? I have an Ohne Filter one of the Blue Line, but where can I find a Tiger Walk one? Bass player with a wicked haircut? Doesn't sound like Jimmy Earl , Myron with his dreads? I love Red Lady with Cello, a live cut would be awesome. _________________ There are no such things as wrong notes, there's only the look on your face.

The concert mentioned is still not on DVD or Video, Steve. Some European guys know this show from television though, because they taped it. _________________ "Don't play what's there, play what's not there" Miles Davis |

We've gotta have this one on DVD! Is anybody listening? We'll pre-order. If it'll help, I'll order two!

Hi,
This is a must have! I got mine yesterday and have watched it multiple times already. It's interesting to see him play his tele so much, way more than the Fender Robben Ford and the '54 Les Paul doesn't even come out!
