Cool Hard to believe that no one on this BBS went to the Rockin' Blues Revue show when it hit Long Beach, CA, this past Friday night. Anyone?

BlueRunner - FYI

There is a little bit of a discussion over on The Gear Page about this concert:

Cool Thanks, Petlea. And a hearty welcome to this Board, by the way! I went to your link on The Gear Page. Interesting info, but not a lot about the music itself. Also, from the comments about "Robben v. Buddy," there are clearly different perspectives on this line-up. Having heard Robben in a couple of situations where he was sharing the stage (e.g., this current tour, a show a year ago with Pat's band and Volker Strifler on guitar, etc.) I harken back to something he talks about in his Clinics, about how important it is for a band member to LISTEN sometimes, and not play out front.

Mayall has come up with a brilliant idea, having not one, but three amazing players on stage with him, for some of the numbers; Robben, Buddy and Eric. Each comes to the music from a very different direction, but with his own gifts to contribute. I'll hope to hear more from folks on this Board as the tour progresses.

So ... Mesa, AZ, last Saturday? Anyone?
