Hi all,

I am hoping someone can help me. A year or so ago I downloaded a sample of Robben performing "Don't let the sun catch you crying" with a pianist. This is not the version from the Authorised Bootleg. Robben played electric guitar, and sang a really nice version.

I would love this in my collection. Anyone know anything?

All the best,

DD

Hi Lefty,

no, this was of an album, and was Robben "sitting in" on one track. I have know idea what album, and where I heard it, but the short clip was very good and has consequently wet my appetite!

Henk (the oracle of all RF recordings), do you know?

All the best,

DD

That song is on the CD called "Optimism" from the Engqvist orkester. Recorded at the international guitarfestival in Aalborg Denmark 2000. Jimmy Haslip on bass and the duration of this version is 8:33.

That's what I was thinking too, Henk. But according to DD his version is not a live recording.

Hi Lefty, and Henk!

I may be wrong in saying it was not a live performance. The reference Hank came up with rings a bell. I am still trying to find a clip of the link he posted to confirm. Fingers crossed, and thanks...............
