Man,
that was cool. I love the colour of the Tele (custom made? is that ebony on the fretboard).
what amp/pedals are you using?
Marin
thanks , no the guitar is a "jim reed" (italian)(http://www.jim-reed-guitars.com/)
i wanted to buy a cheap tele like a squier and someone talk to me about this guitar, it's 270 euros new (lol) , and it's killer for the price (but as you buy direct in internet, you don't pay all importation and seller etc...)
the amp i play is a ENGL screamer, delay in front of amp (no disto pedal, hi lead channel of the amp and a reverb of replifex rocktron used in parallel)

Hey, I thought that Italy and France where both in the EU so no import duty...
I play a Screamer as well so I thought it sounded familiar.
I get some funny sounds when I stick the delay infront of the amp. I'd rather put it in the loop or not use it all.

yes but in france there's always a guy who "import" the gear (named a "importator", and then gives(sell) the guitar to the local store sellers ...the "importator" takes money, and the sellers too....so a 300 euros guitar in the factory can be paid 700 or even 1000 euros in the local store ..( ) , that's true... you olso pay the "logo" on the head...so when it's written fender , you pay for it.....you buy the legend...here you buy direct to the man who build the guitar , and the logo is not known, no importateur, no local store seller...so a 300 euros guitar is equivalent to a 1000 euros fender (i play lot of guitar, for blade to tyler etc) (and because the italian guys needs to make quality if he wants to sell....
i also bought a LP like paid 400 euros :
check this video where i play it :
http://sherbuel.free.fr/stratoquizz.avi
really good guitar
------
i usually use delay in the loop too, but for the blues sound i tried put a little slap back in front of the amp, in the hi lead channel it gives you a nice dirty repetition : i love it
350-400 Euro's is pretty much the standard rate for a Jim Reed. I find it interesting what you are saying. I don't want to belittle your instrument (you probably got a good specimen), but here in Italy, we've heard some real horror stories about those guitars.

can you tell these story, i'm curious...
i don't work for jim reed, i 'm just a professionnal player looking for good cheap instrument , i bought both of jim reed at the same time : to be honest there was small pb of finition, buit nothing horrible....
Well, my first hand experience was a friend who had a tele and the nut just fell off after a month. Furthermore, it was a laminated sunburst finish and he had pieces of laminate falling off the edges. I tried 3 strat copies in a shop and they were really inadequate. Now this was 2-3 year ago. Other stories are mainly related to quality and some low cost design choices, like an "inventive neck stability system with no truss rod". (!).
I have noticed that Jim Reed company created a lot of bad feelings amongst the guitar community here in Italy since there is a lot of spam and deceiving publicity going on at newsgroups claiming that his guitars are "Hand made by Italian Luthiers" and "better than Fender or Gibson" which it appears is not true at all. Apparently, the source for components is the same as for many low cost companies (South East Asia, Vietnam) and he just assembles them. Hence, it is probable that the quaility of his products is very varied, i.e. dependent on the batch of components he orders at a certain time.
I didn't mean to scare you off on anything, and I apologise if I did. You play well and your JR rocks - but I think it has more to do with your fingers! ;)

wow ..well to tell you the truth it began with a "topic" in a french forum (if you read french : http://www.guitariste.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=2670828#2670828)
, where lot of guy bought some jr guitar and told a lot of good thing ...well
i thougt, kent armstrong pick up..good review..let's try ...with a squier i'm sure of the ...low quality, here i can have a good surprise....and i do not care much what is written on the logo head..
i took the command direct in italy (not in england where is the "official seller) and , most of all take time to tell i'm professional musician etc etc, so maybe it helped them give me good models (lol)
to be really objective, there are some finish pb , in both model , BUT, i tried the fender strat paid 800 euros buy my friend the other day, i still prefer my JR....it's a good "medium" guitar means that it sound good, good mic, the action is low, stays in tune.., .....my friend who has a tyler (what a great guitar !!) tested it at home (the LP model) and was surprised too....

By the way, have you modified your Screamer in any way (tubes, speakers=?
I have just changed my speaker so I was wondering what your experiences are?
thanks.
First : i have heard your clips : great , really great playing and sound !!!!!
I bought my screamer new one year ago, the 6L6 are still the engl one, and on preamp i putted some mesa russian 12ax7 (because i friend had them at his home, they were new , and i thought, mesa, it must sound (lol)
i placed it randomly (!!) in the preamp section (i don't know much) about valve, and it sound like this, buut as i read some things about it i should try some jj....but i also had to find a local tech for rebiasing , and don't know where i can bring it for that.
the HP is a vintage 30.
i use a replifex in the loop , and a vg88 before preamp (for different effetc before pre, phaser, delay (like in video) wha , etc)
and a dm4 (used for boost/ts808/octavia/drive)
here are some other sample (taken by a sm57 )
do you use the 4 channel ? (i don't like much the boost on clean channel, what do you think ?)
how do you set the presence for live ? it change a lot the sound i think ? what hp/tube do you have, effects, etc ...
it's a great amp no ??

I have changed my pre-amp tubes to JJ (Tesla) Ecc83s. I bought my Screamer back in 2001 so it didn't have a V30 speaker, but a Celestion Silver Series V80, which I always found had an annoying upper midrange. When played loud, it dissappears, but nowdays I mainly play at home.
I have put a Jensen C12N into it and have replaced the V2 tube with a EH12ax7 to recover for the lost midrange. I still can't decide whether I like it. In the end, I might go for a V30 like everyone else...
After I heard your clip, I brushed the dust off my Boss DD-3 and put it into the loop of the amp and it sounded quite yummy. However, I don't really like that pedal because I cannot tweak the delay too much.
In your clip, are you using the delay before the pre (VG88) or you are using the delay from the Rocktron in the loop?
I am asking since I am contemplating getting a G-major for reverb/delay and to leave it on in the send/return loop.

this amp is a bit special for me, not the same sound at all at low volume than high..at high volume i have to use a ge7 to cut some high fequencies and it gives me a very "modern" sound (i like that)
while at low volume i don't need eq too much and it can sound more vintage.....
i think the "presence" is very active in this amp for the dirty sound and have to be set carefully (lol)
(how do you set it (me at 12 o'clock))

i use it in the vg88 before the pre amp , i'm in period i listen a lot to brian setzer ochestra, and i really like the slap back in his dirty sopund before the pre amp....and as i was listenig to robben ford the other day, i found that for some reason his sound sound a bit like a slap back delai *beofre" the pre amp, you know with a "dirty" small repetition ...
so i tried it and this is the video clip.....

you should then get a intellifex or replifex rocktron if you only want reverb/delay :
there's is a fonction called "pre hush" where the direct signal is send direct in the out , it's like a internal parallel system....your signal stays analog , no AD/DA conversion.....(but you loose hush fonction, like a real parallel system)
while with gmajor , AD/DA is inevitable..
