I just wrote to fineinstruments to get the details. If I have to go to California, I'll do it. Can anyone tell me how heavy the new RF model is going to be? I hope it's not Les Paul heavy, because that is too much weight for me.

I also contacted Al about ordering a Zen drive for $150. The Zen 2 is also available for $100 more. (waiting list) Does anyone know about or tested the Zen 2? Is it worth the extra hundred bucks for the tube? I already use a Tube works amp, so I'm not sure if I need to buy the Zen 2 or just stick with the Zen blues OD.

I believe Gene told me that he expects the RF's to be 8-9 lbs. He could tell you for sure, I just can't remember! Shocked

I ordered my Zen OD today. Can't wait. I'm also on Gene Baker's mailing list. Seems when they finish a guitar, it's basically put on sale, and the first person to agree to their price, gets it. Sounds like there is going to be a battle to get these guitars, and that they are going to be expensive. First ones are due in November. Even though I asked them directly about prices, I still wasn't even given a general cost. What gives with the secrecy? $3000, $4000, $5000? I'd like to know what the general ball park is going to be.

As for the weight comparison. can someone refresh me on what a Les Paul weighs?

www.wildwestguitars.com and www.blackcreekguitars.com have always had pretty good selections. Stock's a bit thin on the ground nowadys though!

Charly

Most standard Les Paul's seem to weigh somewhere between 10-13 lbs. these days.

Bump.

Hey guys. I was recently interested in getting a PRS Hollowbody (I have a Jeff Beck Model Strat and a LP studio with bursbuckers through a marshall TSL 100). I did, however stumble upon Ed Roman's guitar site.

That said, this post seems to indicate the guy might not be on the up and up. Anyone know what the deal is?

Can anyone recommend a better guitar with similar tone, features and playability than the PRS Hollowbodies?

Thanks,

Joe
