Man, that's a bummer, JohnnyZ.

I got layed off end of May, 2 weeks before my 50th birthday, after 22 years at the same place (well sorta, we got bought out by a corporate giant) so I know what you're feelin'. But I'm back at work, at the same place. (The wolrd's goin corporate.)

Even more of a bummer to sell your axe but your sentiments regarding the reason shows your love of the music.........Are you SURE you want to do that?

And, again, thanks everyone for all of the kind sentiments.

Johnny,

I am really sorry that you have lost your job. I know how you feel. Stay positive and optimistic as you usually are, and something will turn up.

Your Baker is beautiful.

Hi Johny,

I’m very sorry to hear bed news but I’m sure very soon things will get better.
No worries about guitar – everything is replaceable in life except life.
I wish you all the best.

Got a wonderful offer in this afternoon's mail (I was told to expect it), and I will be starting my new job on Monday morning! Not bad- only 5 weeks without work, considering the last time I was laid-off, 6 years ago, I was out a whole 10 months. People, I'll tell you, working in high tech industries in Massachusetts can be financially rewarding, but after 30+ years working in this region, including 4 layoffs, I know the meaning of job security- if you didn't get the pink slip on Friday, have a great weekend, and hope for the best in the upcoming week! Laughing

Hopefully, this job will keep me employed for a very long time, especially since I've just turned 50. I'm the type of person who throws all loyalty to the company. One thing that I was told by the CEO of this company is that, they value their employees' personal time off, especially with their families. Imagine that! Put in a hard day's work, and go home, have supper with your family, and enjoy yourself!

Anyway, I want to thank everyone here in this forum who've expressed support and encouragement during my "down time". Believe me, you've kept my spirit up. I will never forget.

Oh, and, what a way to start my new week- going to the Blues Review show on Sunday night! Definitely must be a good sign!

And, once again- thank you all. I definitely want to party with each and every one of you!

Later,
JohnnyZ

That's great news, Johnny! Congratulations! Are you still going to sell the Baker?

Cheers

Thanks again, everyone. The posts are much appreciated, and some even quite humorous!

RoadWarrior- great response about my new job being in Europe! But I'm pretty sure I didn't say that I had 6 months vacation each year... Laughing

AndyR, you had one helluva great music weekend!

JZ

What the heck- while I'm here, I want to ask about an upcoming show in my neck of the woods this weekend- Tommy Castro. I recall seeing his name in several, even many, posts in this forum, but it's been a while. I'd like to see some convincing to go see his show...

Thanks,
JZ
