Daved,
On a completely different topic than Jellyfish or Bob Segarini, I'm having a lot of trouble with clicking (static perhaps?) when my hand brushes the pickguard on my tele. I've put the foil under the pickguard but have had no luck. It seems fine in summer, but come the dry, Canadian winter .... ever come across something like this? Any suggestions?
Very, very typical....no big deal. That bakelite is a good conductor of static electricity.
Simple solution......get one of those dryer sheets (Bounce or ???) that you put in with your laundry to keep it from getting static cling, and wipe your pickguard with it periodically.
Works a charm!!

Even cheaper. Put a tablespoon of woolite into a litre of water. That's it. Wipe things down with this solution periodically. In the electronics industry they sell this stuff called Staticide which is basically mild soap in a very diluted solution. The soapyness attracts moisture from the air which collects on the surface and dissapates static electricty. Nothing really trick about it. _________________ There are no such things as wrong notes, there's only the look on your face.
