Being from Vermont myself I hate to point the finger, but this looks suspiciously like spam to me. Especially coming from a first-time poster. If not, then just ignore me. It's my job to be an ornery old codger.

"Old codger" Noun
S: (n) codger, old codger (used affectionately to refer to an eccentric but amusing old man)

Should we add "cautiously suspicious, prone to follow one's instincts"? Cool

Well it is not worst than all these f****g advertisements when you reach this bord, there is even a banner asking us to shop with amazon, bleeech. In the near future we might be asked to do whatever the 2 Dave ask for : shirts, socks, shoes, guitars, cables, stompboxes, amps and finally we sure be asked to think in One way . What i call the Orwell's way. I hope Robben is not playing in this league. Jesus did something to the merchants if i remember well.

So long

I am surprised to see replies that are focused on this being spam...
not sure what qualifies as spam. I am actually hoping that guitar players will take the time to look at this incredible guitar!
This open forum seemed like a good place to post a friends guitar site.
If you take the time to read the testimonials, watch the video, read the reviews on Harmony Central, then you may see for yourself!

By the way, I am a first time poster because I don't usually get involved in message boards. I just wanted to share something with others that may have a passion for the guitar, and why not, somebody out there may find themselves with a guitar that can bring their own playing to another level.

Just a note...I did see Robben Ford with John Mayall perform at the Flynn recently and it was an amazing show! Eric Bibb was wonderful as well.

I hope to hear replies back from people that actually took the time to view warren guitars.

Thanks,
Victoria

Not really sure if this qualifies as spam, either, or even what spam is these days anyway. Lots of folk on this site try and sell something or send people to one website or another, so I am inclined to agree with the Blue man, this is no better or worse than all the stuff lurking around the edges when I pull up this site (and I noticed the Amazon plug the other day, too).

Having said this, I did check out the Warren site and it is very cool. Some good looking guitars, and even better, a 4:40 minute video of Arlen Roth tearing it up on his signature model. Great stuff - Roth is a tele monster and he even has a new CD out. I really enjoy his "Toolin Around" cd, with Gatton, and Robbilard as guests, among others. I put it on and play along for a great workout over a lot of differnt styles.

See - here I am plugging Arlen Roth, who I do not know, never met, and have no association with whatsoever, except I love his music and would encourage other people to check him out.

Don't take it too personally. People are rather sensitive to spam these days because there's so much of it. I would expect that reaction just about everywhere if you're new and start recommending something.

Think about it...I've seen telefunk1 around here for as long as I can remember so I know he's legit. If he says "Hey, check this out.", I'm gonna go check it out. When I see someone with 3 posts (all of them about a friend's guitar) suggesting I check something out, I'm gonna be suspicious. Most people would be if they've seen much spam.

Don't take that too seriously. We do occasionally get people joining the group for the sole pupose of selling their products, but that's clearly not the case with you.

I did check out the website, and the guitars look great. But I would never buy a guitar without being able to fondle it first. I'm planning a trip to Rutland in the fall to visit my family, so maybe I'll have a chance to check out the guitars firsthand while I'm there.

Welcome to the group. Stick around, you'll enjoy the folks (some crazier than others) here. We have some great players, some excellent people, and one grumpy old fart (me!). Evil or Very Mad

Hi victoria,

welcome to the board. Do not get upset or dispondent. All the members of this board I am familiar with are great, friendly people in particular the "old codger".

I also feel for you as the same happened to me when i posted for the first time on another site's "fx forum" about the Zendrive, which you may have noticed I am very enthuiastic about. I, like you, wanted to make people of the forum in question aware of the new, great gear, as it seemed from the posts it would have suited the members quests for their particular requirements and no one had mentioned it. i posted links and made a comment along the lines of "check this out, i think it would suit your needs. rather than ramble on, read these user reviews as they mimic mine".

Well, the abuse I got for this post was terrible. I even politely asked how I should have expressed my first post in an fx forum talking about an fx pedal, but these guys were particualry insulting and compared my methods to that of L.R Hubbard and Diantics for goodness sake Evil or Very Mad . funny now, but humiliating at the time.

The irony of this is that the board was very inactive for weeks until I posted. Strange bunch, totally different to members here.

I contacted the administrators asking to be removed form the board. They didn't remove me instead they removed some of the more offending posts and left the rest. I felt saddened by the whole affair and wondered why I even bothered.

Ah, I feel better for that!!!

Sorry, i almost forgot to mention that the guitars look great. I too would have to feel/play one to fully appreciate the guitar. I did however like Warren's pledge to quality. It is nice to see in a world where commercialism seems paramount, that some people go against the grain(no pun intended!).

So Victoria, hang around and you will be happy here, I am sure.

Cheers,

DD

I want to thank the people on this board that were kind enough to reply to my post, and let me know why the concern over it being spam. I understand how posting a site does appear to be "selling", but to me I feel I am doing a great service by letting players know that this guitar is out there, and by supporting a dear friend in his quest and vision to build such a fine instrument...with all of his heart and soul, and pure love of the guitar...who out there doesn't want to find themselves in "Tonal Bliss"!

As for me, I am just a plain ole' middle aged woman still suffering from the "empty nest" after three years, moved back to Vermont since attending school here in the 70's (Goddard), and rediscovering myself once again! I am a Massage Therapist, artist in my own right...a lover of music, I own a sax, a flute, and a cello that sits in it's case collecting dust from not being played...so I am a somewhat "blocked" artist that would love the encouragement of others in getting off of my a** and actually attempt once again, to learn to play the cello...it isn't a guitar, but if anyone has ever heard Matt Hamowitz play Jimmy Hendrix Star Spangled Banner on his Cello...wow! it is definitely worth hearing, of course the Bach Cello Suites will just send you into an altered state....I swear!

To Bill (old codger as affectionately referred to on here I believe)...I checked out your web link and enjoyed reading it. My daughter is currently a third year and soon to be graduating Berklee College Of Music student...besides her vocal studies, she has found her interest is copywright, and music publishing as a potential career. She is currently looking into internships in NY...if you have anything interesting you can share with her, let me know...having been in the music business yourself, if you don't mind.

I wanted to give the active people on this board a little more into who I am (not just a spammer)...so now you know!

Oh yes..and did I mention checking out warrenguitars.com??

Welcome, Victoria. And thanks for sharing with us. Best of luck to you, and your daughter. As far as the cello goes, Lyle Lovett has partnerd with a cellist for years, frequently performing as a duo - so check out his stuff for a great example of how this instrument can "fit in."

Hi Don,

Welcome to the group. As I mentioned to Victoria, I am planning to go back to Rutland hopefully in the fall, and it would be nice if I could check out your guitars at that time. If you get a chance, send me a PM and we can talk about it. I always enjoy talking with folks back in Vermont. The older I get, the more I miss it.
