You will love the AC Booster! I played one when I was in NY during the summer. It's one of the best overdrive pedals I have ever heard..really let's the tone of the guitar and amp shine through.

Scott Henderson is using this pedal.

I need to buy one of these!

I ordered one because of your recommendation. If I don't like it you will receive a bill...... Laughing

ok I got my AC booster and I don't really like it, it's muddy in the bass and when you play with a band you won't be heard unless you use the treble pu. Compared to my BBOD which is much more concrete it's not worth to talk about. But tastes are different. Anyone wants to buy my ACbooster?

Well that sucks! Sorry you don't like it? I played one through a Bruno Cowtipper with my Tele and it sounded really great!

Scott Henderson used it on "Well to the Bone."

I will try it tonight on a Roland Jazz Chorus, maybe like it more? I don't say it' a bad pedal and with a strat it's quite ok but it's not my sound. Scott Henderson's sound I love most on "tore down house", no acbooster.
With pedals the amp you use is very important. Never heard of that Bruno amp, thought only my drummer and my father in laws late dog were called so.

Nothing to do with Robben, just a good OD pedal....

Where did you find the waiting list? I sent him my money in June and haven't heard anything since.

Marin,

Thanks, I didn't see this when I ordered it. It says 14 weeks now so I should be getting mine soon. I don't need it day to day, I have two overdrive amps but I wanted a backline saviour. You know, when you don't know what you're going to plug into and you want tone in a box. I tried a friends Fulldrive II into my MiniBrute and liked it. At the moment I have a Klon Centaur which is awesome through a happening amp but sounds like a cheap fuzz box through a clean transistor rig or a board.

I know what you mean....typically, most transistor OD pedals just enhance the good side of an already good valve amp. The Tube Factor is tube based and I bought it to enhance the crappy amps (valve, transistor, hybrid) that I find in rehearsal rooms. At home, I use the Boss (hear my samples on my web page) or just the amp (4 levels of gain).

Using an OD direct into the board is a bit optimistic, don't you think? Some sort of speaker simulation is really needed, I think.

I would be curious to try this Banzai pedal.

Hello folks,

Does anyone know what the story is with Olaf Noblis and the Banzai company? I ordered a Fireball II in June. I didn't realize that there was a waiting list and after waiting a month sent him a note. I got a terse reply that my money was on the books and the pedal would be "shipped when it is ready". The web site is listing the backlog at 14 weeks and I've sent three messages in the last couple months and have gotten no answer at all. A friend has exchanged some messages about how the various models sound so I think he is still in business. Does anyone over on the continent know if Banzai still exists or has it gone the way of Baker?

Thanks,

First, I have had no problems with Musictoyz. I got an overdrive pedal I saw at Bill Morgan's site, the Stampede Overdrive SOV 1. Apparently Robben requested on during a tour of Japan. Here's a link to Bill's page with the pix:

http://www002.upp.so-net.ne.jp/wmorgan/Stampede.html

Here's a product link:

http://www.musictoyz.com/stampede.htm

And here's a link to the Garth Webber (known to Mr. Ford) sound samples:

http://www.solutionzone.com/sov_demo.mp3

In general I hate "overdrive" pedals; I guess I'm amp spoiled. I have a Tube Screamer with Analogman mods - never use it. The Stampede, I use plus it's got a great boost feature. I'm not replacing it with a Fireball II because, to my ear, it's so similar.
