Cool Anyone have any information about the halftime show for the Super Bowl this Sunday? Someone at work told me that in an effort to avoid the shocking "wardrobe malfunction" of two years ago and the openly and shamelessly erotic performance put on by Paul McCartney last year, this year the promoters are bringing in a group of elderly British musicians to perform some favorite pop songs generally based on a traditional American music form.

A link to what you won't see on TV this Sunday:

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/5301892

Stevie Wonder will play a 12-minute set before the game, and Aretha Franklin will team on the national anthem with singer Aaron Neville, keyboardist Dr. John and a 150-member Detroit-based choir.

John Legend, India.Arie and Joss Stone are also expected to perform some of Wonder's hits, as well as some other Motown standards during the pre-game show.

The Stones will also play for 12 minutes, but they refused on Thursday to divulge their set list.

I don't think they televise the pregame show ??? Neutral

I love the Rolling Stones but I think they would be better known as the "antique traveling road show"

I'd rather see B.B. King and of course, Robben Ford. LOL! The Stones are so over rated.

So bad i've been out of this thread for a while. Stones suck a great time, i will be more indulgent with Keith Riff hard but these guys ain't rock , they just suck plain hard just like the people who hire them for a no no show.
It reminds me the good ol' times when whiteys were playing music with black faces on Mississipi's boats.Yep i assume 100 % . Fucking sport , it's worth than religion : it is the Opium for Masses and i do hope i'll never hear any Robben Note in that kind of situation.
The worst for me is that these guys never give a credit to this true flamboyant musician and true dedicated addict to the church of groove :
I name Mister Darryl Jones .

Down with the Stones .............

You're right, they don't give Darryl Jones any credits. He's a great player.

Used to be they'd have their old bassist (forgot the name, Wyman?) in all the photos of the Stones but when he left they just have the 4 guys who are left but no bassist in their promo photos. Probably so they can keep more of that huge cake they get all the time. Gettin' greedy in their old, old age.

Anyways, I'm still waiting for Keith Richard or Ron Wood to play a decent solo, but not holding my breath at all.

As for Robben Ford playing at an event like that I would LOVE to see it as it would mean the "masses" are being exposed to some very good quality music for a change instead of all that pop slop they try to shove down everyone's throats. I'm SO tired of that crap!! Music in general deserves better treatment from the folks who are making the decisions on what the "masses" listen to.

GIVE US THE GOOD STUFF DAMMIT!!!! lol.

LOL. I guess when Stones tickets are going for upwards of $400 it really isn't for the masses. That's crazy and NOT worth it! I'd rather just see Robben Ford 20 times instead. Or The Nighthawks, or B.B. King, or just about anybody else but them. LOL.
