Cool!
I just bought myself a new Vox AC30 amp with Wharfdale speakers to go with the vintage Rickenbacher 360/12 guitar that I picked up last year.

Great choice, Daved! Is it new or vintage? Must sound awsome with the Rickenbacker. Coincidence that these two brands are not mentioned much on this board. I do not have a Ricky, but I love the sound of it. I do have a VOX AC50 top from 1965 that I use for guitar. Increddible sound, and build like a tank! Very underestimated amps nowadays, but if you take the time to try one, you'll be surprised! _________________ "Don't play what's there, play what's not there" Miles Davis |

Congrats, Daved! I've wanted an AC30 for some time now. Eventually I will take the plunge.
I just bought a new amp this week also. It's a boutique single-ended class-A 6v6 combo with a 12 inch speaker and 6 watts of pure bliss. It is the sweetest sounding amp I have ever owned. Plus, I can crank it up without annoying the neighbors. |

OOOOOHHHH. Just love that Ricky 12. I have a contemporary who used to be a lawyer, then wised up and became a Fire Chief (honest). When he's not driving a fire engine around, he can be found playing local bars with various bands. Everything from C&W to rock covers to blues. He's primarily a Telecaster through Twin guy, but about two years ago his wife surprised him for Christmas with a 360/12. And immediately his rock cover band added a whole slew of Byrds tunes to the set list.
After all of these years, those 360/12's still get a ton of use. I recently bought on iTunes some new stuff by Lucy Kaplansky, and by golly, right there on three of the tracks, that cool Rickenbacker-12 jangle.
Daved: I envy you. I also expect you to be posting updated photos with the little rectangled granny-glasses shades, paisley-print shirts, bell-bottoms, and Edwardian-cut jackets with fake-fur collars. You know, all that stuff that his fellow Congressmen never let Sonny Bono wear when he was back in Washington DC. _________________ - BlueRunner |

Be careful what you wish for, Blue!
You could get subjected to pictures of me in my Nehru jacket and love beads backstage at a Fever Tree ("San Francisco Girls"), or People ("I Love You"), or Chambers Brothers ("Time"), or It's A Beautiful Day ("White Bird") concert. Just be sure to wear some flowers in your hair.
I even have some groovy pictures of that nature from my Navy days. Looking back, it's pretty surprising what I managed to get away with during the Admiral Zumwalt period of the very early 70's. My at-sea nickname was petty officer Bear because of my thick beard while my usual attire aboard ship was almost always shirtless, with a small brass bell and my dog-tags on a leather chocker strap around my neck, faded dungaree pants, comfy leather sandals, and a tattered paperback copy of Dalton Trumbo's banned novel, "Johnny Got His Gun" in my back pocket. Now, is that proper military dress code, or what?!!
Peace, love, and flower power to all my hippy-freak brothers!!! _________________ B C-ing U!

It's new, Lefty, but it sounds great! I thought I might see about picking up some 'original' Alnico speakers for it, but after playing around with it for awhile, I think I'm happy with it just the way it is. _________________ B C-ing U!

Fever Tree? Now there's a blast from the past - they did a great version of Daytripper intertwined with We Can Work It Out. The band I was in back in the sixties, Custard Beast (people still come up to me and remind me I was in a band of that name ... ), did that Fever Tree version as an opener. Loved it.
It's A Beautiful Day - anyone remember White Bird? Which brings me to another band with a violin player - the Flock. Fantastic band. I wonder what happened to them?
But I digress _________________ "Creativeness often consists of merely turning up what is already there. Did you know that right and left shoes were only thought up a little more than a century ago?" - Bernice Fitz-Gibbon 1894-1982 |

Hey this guy the violin player , he played with John Mc Laughlin. And i've seen him on the House of Blues site when they used to stream nice audio & video live concerts, he was violining with the Dixie dreggs for a (i think) Year 2000 anniversary. i can't remember his name right now. _________________ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_music.cfm?bandID=147748 |
