I just copied and pasted this from (jambands.com).

A Yellowjacket Stings the Allman Brothers

Having played with Joni Mitchell, George Harrison, LA Express and Charles Musselwhite, as well as his own band, the Yellowjackets, Guitarist Robben Ford’s resume touches upon all corners of the classic-rock catalogue. After last night, Ford can also add the Allman Brothers Band to his list of famed collaborators. Near the end of the ABB’s second set at the Beacon Theater, Ford emerged for a cover of the Rolling Stones’ “Loving Cup,” as well as “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed” and “One Way Out.” While in his early 50s, Ford’s appearance significantly lowers the average age of this year’s Beacon Theater collaborators, which have included Hubert Sumlin (age 75) and Pinetop Perkins (age 92), among others.

Cool jamsu1: Welcome aboard. And thanks for forwarding the jambands review. Wish I could have been there. One thing that jambands missed, though: While the Stones have done great versions of "Lovin' Cup" in concert, the tune "belongs" to its composer, Paul Butterfield. In clinics, Robben often plays the tune from the first Butterfield Blues Band album, on Elektra, and talks about how it influenced him, so many years ago. Yes, lots of years ago, although the comparison with Sumlin and Perkins is interesting. Just ask Daved, or me: You don't have to be 75 or 92 to have no hair left. Mid-50's has done it to some of us. Though not to Robben. 'Tho recently he's begun to sport that "touch of grey" that makes so many other musicians look cool.

P.S.: While Robben's various recorded takes on "Lovin Cup" are all great, the recent recording by board member Ron Sayer is also fantastic.

Just FYI, the Stones song "Loving Cup" (from Exile) is a completely different tune than the Butterfield "Lovin' Cup" that Robben performs frequently.

I assume it was the latter he did with the ABB.

Over on the Allman Bros site there is one review of the ABB show with Robben (click on the Review link), and one tape trader has the show (click on that link). I am not a trader or taper, but if anyone here gets a copy let me know and we can work something out. I am sure a lot of other people here will want this show, too.
