I got a letter from UK shipping company Parcel Force last Friday telling me there was a shipment from Mr A Harmida ready for me at their depot. Just the small matter of UK Value Added Tax and a clearance fee (Total £31.17, that's 53.86 USD) to pay and if all goes according to plan, I should have my Zendrive in my sweaty little mits when I get home from work later this afternoon.

I just rang my wife at home and she tells me a parcel arrived a couple of hours ago - and I have to wait another hour before I can leave work

I have to sympathize with you #9.
Alf sent me a replacement ZD for Derek (to replace the one that disappeared when his gear was stolen recently).
It ALMOST arrived on Saturday.
My apartment is at the front of the complex looking directly out on the mailboxes on the street.
I sat at my desk, internetting, saw the postman arrive and spend 20 minutes distributing the mail, and then watched him drive away.
A few minutes later I went out to collect my mail and found a "Sorry We Missed You!" slip in my box telling me that I could pick up my package at the post office on Monday (today).
I noticed that the slip said the package was from Alf and that it was insured, so I figured that was why the small package was not left.
However, I found it odd that I receive insured & signature confirmation mail all the time (including past items from Alf). These have always been brought to my door by the postman in the past.
So, this morning I show up at the local post office as it opened for business, first in line, with my "Sorry We Missed You!" slip in hand.
The person at the counter then takes my slip, disappears in back for a few minutes and then returns to tell me that the package is not there, but with the postman.
Thus follows the obvious, but confusing, conversation:
me: "Do I have to sign for this because it is insured and that is why it was not just left in my mailbox?"
PO: "Yes"
ME: "I watched the postman deliver the mail. If I had known he had this package with him, and that he wasn't going to come to my door (as the post person usually does), I would have gone out to the mailbox."
PO: "You live in an apartment complex?"
ME: "What does the delivery address say...?"
PO: "Well, then, there's your problem. If you live in an apartment complex, the mailman is not permitted to come to your door."
ME: "Then why have packages requiring my signature, some containing exactly the same item as this one, been brought to my door in the past?"
PO: "With all due respect, sir, you must be mistaken."
ME: "With all due respect, sir, I am NOT mistaken as the post office regularly delivers specialty mail to my door, and my neighbors doors, all the time... and THEN, if I am not at home to receive and sign for my mail, they leave one of these notices.
But let's not argue this point, I need my package. I am here to pick it up, as directed, could I please have it now."
PO: "Well, sir, you'll have to come back some other time as the mailman has it with him."
ME: "Why does he have it with him, when he knows he can't deliver it to that address?"
PO: "Because he has to TRY to deliver it. He can't just leave it behind."
ME: "Let me see if I understand this correctly...
the mailman cannot deliver my package to my mailbox, because it is insured and requires a signature...
and he cannot come to my door, literally 50 feet away, because I live in an apartment complex, which, until now, has NEVER been a problem for the Post Office in the past...
yet, seeing the address on the package, thus knowing these things, takes it with him anyway so I couldn't come to the Post Office on Saturday to pick it up myself...
and then, leaves me a notice telling me that I will have to come to the Post Office in person the following Monday to sign for and pick it up...
then, after I've waited all thru the weekend (while originally, unknownst to me, the package was at one point only 50 feet from me) to come to the Post Office to pick up my package personally, as directed by the postman's "Sorry We Missed You!" notice.........
You NOW tell me that it is not here, but rather, is with the postman, who KNOWS he cannot deliver it to me, because rather than standing out by my mailbox all day for him to show up, I have come to the Post Office, as HE directed, to be told he has it with him?!?!"
PO: "Well sir, we are, of course very sorry for the inconvenience."
ME: "One last question, now that you've told me to ignore this notice, run back home and try to catch him at the mailbox, what happens if I miss him again? Will he then leave another notice telling me to come pick up the package at the post office tomorrow, because he cannot deliver it directly to me, and then take it with him again tomorrow, knowing he cannot deliver it directly to me, so he can leave me another notice telling me to go pick it up at the post office, so he can then take it with him again the next day, knowing he cannot deliver it to me, etc., etc., etc.?!?!"
PO: "Again sir, we're very sorry for the inconvenience. We can only recommend that you stay at home,watch for the postman at the mailboxes, and then go out to him to sign for your package."
ME: "ARRGGGHHHHHHHHHH!"
Is it any wonder that I've pulled all the hair out of my head? _________________ B C-ing U!

I'm amazed you managed to remain as calm as you did. A big guy like you could have at least rearranged the furniture
This sure sounds like a Monty Python sketch to me!
Had a similar experience with a telecaster I bought recently that I had paid extra for a speedy delivery.
I tracked it to the depot 10 minutes from my house and it sat there. So I phoned Parcelforce to be told I couldn't drive there to pick it up I had to wait to be sent a letter (a two day wait ) , for it to arrive so I could phone through a code to them to allow my parcel to be delivered thus rendering the speedy delivery fee utterly null and void.
(Hope DT gets his ZD at some point, good luck stalking the postman)

Is it any wonder we all use email for everything possible? At my local post office a counter person passed out behind the counter and even though more employees could be heard in the back not one responded to customers' cries for help. I hope you get your package soon, Daved. Try not to choke the mailman.

3 1/2 mths or maybe 4 1/2 mths and still holding. Becoming a little nervous about Alf being paid by what seems to be quite a few of us and still no Zen. I sat in a circle and did my Hindu ohm and have prayed to the Gods, left Alf a message on time frame now and no responce. Makes one go hummm. I think I'll change my user name to Holding Pattern.

It's a hard case to handle . What are you expecting ? I am not gonna mail Alfonso Haermida once a week? He just got my order on 01/27, being lucky i might expect it 05/27 then i will increase my stress.And maybe i'll not like the toy. And the bad part of the whole story is the furious custom taxes...................................................................................

I posted a message on my website recently. I had a nasty computer crash and my hard disk died. There were about 1 week worth of emails that were not responded to. I indicated that anyone that didn't get a response should resend the email. Sorry for any inconvenience. I ordered the hard disk electronics and will try to replace it and hopefully retrieve all the data...but in the meantime, resend your email.
I have about 60 prepaid orders left - after those I went to just a plain waiting list. I have a batch of about 32 units that should ship at the beginning of next week. I already shipped 40 units to my 2 dealers last week. I hope to have the emails restored since I want to be able to send a notice to everyone that is getting one from this batch.
I don't know which Hindu god you prayed to but I've got Ganesh's ear pretty worn out these days (he's the remover of obstacles).

Alf emailed me on Monday saying that he'd be shipping my Zendrive in the next day. For those of you US Zendrive owners, what method was your pedal sent- US Post, UPS, FedEx?

Just got my Zendrive! I love having stuff sent here to my work address- it helps make my day! It's a neat looking device. A lot smaller than I'd imagined. Now, only 7 more hours befor I can hook it up to my DrZ Maz 18 Jr. 2x12 and scare the crap out of my new neighborhood...
