For those of you who have been long-time members of this discussion board, you know how much Robben has been influenced by Miles Davis. I happened to locate a great interview by Christopher Lydon, the moderator of Radio Open Source, with George Wein (Newport Jazz Festival founder), Marcus Miller (Bassist), & George Cole (author of The Last Miles) discussing the legacy of Miles including the addition to his bands with younger musicians, like Robben. One interesting fact: I remember hearing an interview with Robben about how he came to play with Miles and what Miles said to him when they first met.........minutes before their first gig in Washington, D.C............"Robben, what's you going to wear on stage, man." At the end of the Lydon interview, you'll have a better understanding of exactly why Miles asked Robben this question. I'm sure you'll enjoy the interview.
