Has anyone here bought the Allen Hinds DVD yet? I'm always looking for some new inspiration, and I like his playing, so I'm thinking about the getting the DVD, but I'd like to know if anyone has checked it out and has any comments on it. Thanks.

Bill

I like his playing a lot, so I got it a couple of months ago. I think its a good DVD. I learned a few things. However, it is not what I'd call content-rich. He talks about his technique and some excercises. It's not like some of Robben's videos that have a lot of information and well thought out examples. All-in-all, however, if you like Allen's playing, I'd recommend getting the DVD. It's still just a pleasure seeing him play.

Thanks for the info. I do like his playing so maybe I'll just ahead and get it. One question though. In the teaser video on the website, he says that he encourages people to look at the fretboard as one big pattern rather than 5 separate ones. I assume he's referring to the CAGED system when he mentions 5 separate patterns, but does he get into his method of looking at the fretboard as one big pattern in detail, or does he just mention it in passing?

Thanks again.
