Hope you're doing well. I'm asking because I have a funny feeling the CD is mentioned in that issue. I just had an email from someone I don't know asking to buy the CD and mentioning that issue of Guitarist.
I sent it off several months ago to Simon Bradley at Guitarist in the hope of a mention but clearly they've never informed me of their intent to put it in the mag.
Could you possibly give it a look to see if it's in the review section or elsewhere? I'd be grateful.
Btw we are playing at the Shed in Norwich on Friday, you would love this one, we are doing an 'All Blues/Funk set', plenty of Robben, BB, Tab Benoit, Albert King and Collins etc. It'd be good to see you again.
well after looking a couple of times, I found it!!
On page 24 of issue 272, in the 'news in brief' column, it reads;
"SAYER PRAYER'
2000's Guitarist Of The Year Ron Sayer has just released an albulm that combines 122 of the most classic of rock riffs and solos into a number of musical collages "for your listening enjoyment' (it says here). Ron's a great player so this isn't actually as naff as it sounds, and the albulm is available through www.sayermusic.co.uk
Not bad at all!!!
Cheers,
DD
P.S I can't make Friday but I will look out for other gigs, and pop along. Oh, and if you still want your TS9 modding, I can do that too (not during the break ! _________________ Music is the universal language; speak it with emotion, listen with a passion.

Sounds like this gig would make for a fine live cd (hint!) which I'd love a copy of (double hint!)
DD: Thanks for that mate, I was hoping there might be more of a feature on both the CDs but a mention is better than nothing!
Collinsman: www.sayermusic.co.uk but there isn't much about the band and blues direction. We have a CD out (of which most of the members here own a copy). As you can probably guess those guys are my favourite players too!
Johnny/Frank: A live CD would be a nice idea but it's our first time at that venue and I hear it's pretty small. Plus I don't really have the funds etc to get a really good recording.
I record most of my live shows with a mini-disc/powered mike, sometimes they come out well (sometimes not). If this one comes out well I'll post a couple of mp3s if you want.
I'm looking forward to this gig, we've been rehearsing several new numbers, Help The Poor (Robben's chord prog but BB King's Bossa type beat), It Don't Make Sense, Worried Life Blues, Up The Line & Me & My Woman from RF, Baby Blue & Muddy Bottom Blues by Tab Benoit, Don't Lose Your Cool & Nobody Home by Albert Collins, Crosscut Saw by Albert King, The Chicken (?).
Rehearsal was outstanding, Paul (drummer) is an awesome player, and new bassist Marlon is a great 'in the pocket' player with big ears.
Amazing how much fun there is to be had with just a tele and a valve amp.

Hi Ron. A couple of mp3's would be great. Good luck with the show. I know you'll be great. BB does an interesting version of "Help the Poor" and I've been a Tab Benoit fan for a long time. He's a really nice guy, too.
