Hi,

I was a professional rock'n'roll photographer in the mid-seventies. I am currently writing/designing a book called "Everybody I Shot Is Dead" featuring photos of the musicians who have since passed and my personal stories.

I'm chronicling the making of the book online and have just posted a few never-before-seen George Harrison photos, including one with Robben. Thought you might like to check it out.

Also see the archives for a list of the musicians in the book, as well as other posted photos and stories you will hopefully find interesting.

Thanks,
Deborah

Cool Deborah: Welcome aboard, and ... where have you been all our lives? Your web site and your blog site are way too very cool. I'll need to take an afternoon off from work to really do them justice.

Best wishes for great success with your upcoming book. I'll definitely be looking for a copy, and a few more to give as gifts.

By the way, of all of those great musical men and women you've shot, Robben's got to be the nicest.

Thanks, Blue. Appreciate you bookmarking the blog.

Unfortunately, I only met him a couple of times in passing...so I don't know if I can say he was the nicest of all. But he was definitely nice and polite, and not hard to look at either. I always hoped I'd run into him more when I was working with Joni Mitchell on the art book, but alas.

Hopefully, I can get in touch with him at some point with regards to this book. On addition to my personal stories, I want to get quotes from friends and family of the deceased...with regards to what they hope people will remember about them.

Deborah,

Thanks for sharing your great photos with us. I often wondered about that George Harrison tour. I've recently heard a somewhat ragged version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" from that 1974 tour at the LA Forum on Vault Radio

Hey Pat,

I've read about that tour being considered a disaster, which I never understood because I thought the show was great. The rest of the photos that I'll be putting in the book show George and Robben etc looking very happy. I checked with some friends and was informed that Vancouver (where I shot the show) was the first show, so maybe that explains it.

I guess as the tour progressed, George's voice was giving out and he also put Ravi Shankar's segments throughout the show. Glad I saw it when I did.

Thanks for the link to the Vault.

Deborah, thanks for sharing your awesome blog, and please hang around here.

I found your latest entry with the unusual search entries and your comments very amusing!

And, your comment about Robben Ford being "not hard to look at", well, how about some more photos of yourself? Embarassed I especially like that photo of you and Ron Wood...

Please let us know when your book is published. I'd like an autographed copy! Cool

Deborah, do you know a one-time rock photographer named Kate Simon? I met her a few years back, and have seen some great rock star photos she has taken. I'm not sure, but I think she might still be in the biz. I met her when she was married to David Johansen.
