Four dates around Florida from October 25th - 29th.
GA&F at HOB/Orlando Sunday, Oct 29th (Tickets go on sale June 21st)
Two shows within an hour of my front door
And, another FL date: Fri Oct 27th at the Pompano Beach Amphitheatre (ticket sale date not yet announced). This will be one of my two planned long distance road trips to see GA&F. The other is Chicago (again)!

JZ, are you going to Sarasota and Orlando too? _________________ Travelling by train of thought

I thought about it, but when I plotted the distances on Mapquest, I figured that I should be happy to see them just the once in FL. See, we have a place and a car for free in Pompano Beach, thanks to a friend. And, the trip is supposed to be an R&R getaway for my wife and I. And, coincidentally, the night of the show in Pompano is our 27th wedding anniversary. And, not that a couple of hundred miles drive each way to Orlando and Sarasota is a big deal (wouldn't be the 1st time), but I don't want to pile on the miles on a very gernerous friend's vehicle. Plus my wife most certainly wouldn't want to do it (takes away from R&R and beach time). I kind of agree on that point. Besides, I plan on a Chicago trip to see GA&F, and I'll probably take in a couple or more shows up here in rainy (again) New England...
Thanks for asking, though. I'm sure we'll run into each other somewhere along the way.

Second leg is a west coast run which starts in Phoenix in mid November and goes thru San Diego up to Spokane, Washington, ending up back in Anaheim at the House Of Blues.
Daved, I know you have nothing to do with scheduling, but I hope Portland will be on the schedule for late November. What a great way to celebrate my birthday!

I am starting to see some of the dates booked for the GA&F tour and, so far, no Portland or Seattle dates, JD (though there are unconfirmed/open dates still to be filled).
I, too, hope they book something in those areas as, after living in Portland thru the entirety of the 80's, I have a deep fondness for the NW.
My son was born on Whidbey Island, in the Puget Sound, almost 40 years ago and I always feel an overwhelming sense of "coming home" everytime I find myself driving down thru Portland's Terwilliger curves and up over the Markham bridge with downtown spread out below me to the left, nestled in the Willamette river basin below the west hills.
Many of my closest friends still live there and someday I, too, shall return there to retire and settle down. _________________ B C-ing U!

Gregg tells me that Bernard Perdie has had to back out of the GA&F tour and that Steve Potts will most likely take his place.
But both Dal (Robben's manager) and Michael (Gregg's manager) have told me that the Robben negotiations have been succesfully completed and comitted to. _________________ B C-ing U!

Alright! Ticket for show #2 on my agenda purchased today! Almost missed it too- forgot to check the Gregg Allman website yesterday, and sho' 'nuff, tickets went on sale for the 10/15 Portland, ME show. Still, I managed to grab a front row center balcony seat! Psyched!

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
I'm sorry to report that I spoke with Robben on the phone yesterday and was disappointed to hear that he will NOT be on the upcoming GA&F tour now at all this year, due to unresolvable scheduling conflicts.
I have not heard anything from Gregg's camp yet, but this is what Robben himself told me. Robben says he recommended that they consider using Mike Landau in his place but he doesn't know who will actually end up in the slot.
Once I hear confirmed word from Gregg or his management about the replacement, I will post what I learn. _________________ B C-ing U!
