Robben and Larry will be at the Blue Note in Tokyo for 4 nights in September, 2 shows a night. I made reservations for all 8 shows. It's gonna cost me about $1000, but how often does a chance like this come along! Should be a fun time.

Bill,
you are simply the epitome of a hard core fan!
You lucky old codger you.
You better give us all a review of everynight, or else...........
Anyway Bill, its a little way off but I hope you have a ball. Tell Robben not to burn himself out before the UK tour in November, and if he likes, he can bring Larry for a guest appearence
Cheers,

Holy Old Codgers, Bill! I've heard about the very high cost of living in Japan, but $125 a show, where here in the States, it's probably no more than $35 give or take, that's astronomical! But, I'd probably do the same (go to all of 'em).
I hope Robben & Larry give you every Yen worth, and more! |

Ticket price is about $80 a show, then you have to add food and drinks on top of that, so the price goes up quite quickly. I probably won't eat at the second show (although I'm a sucker for those curly french fries), so maybe if I economize, I can get the cost down a bit. Should be a fun time though. I just hope I survive it. The Blue Note seats people on a first come first serve basis, and you have to go early to get a number. By early, I mean 10am. Often for Robben's shows, there are people lined up at 6am waiting to get a number. I don't think I'll get there that early.

I flew to New York just to see the one show. It was well worth it! |

You're more hardcore than I am!
I'm sure I'll enjoy the shows. We don't get to see too much of Robben here in Japan. I'm really looking forward to it.

Last night at Villa Montalvo, Larry, Robben, Jeff Babko, Tos Panos and Travis Carlton put on a great set with some minor technical issues. When I get my thoughts together I will post more.
