|
|
Daved (or any Tele players looking in): I'm curious as to the string gauge that Robben uses on his Telecaster I know he uses D'Addario strings and wondered about the gauge. I've been using 10's on my new Highway 1 model (great guitar!) and just switched to 11's for a bit stronger feel. Any opinions? Thanks. P.S. Ocgtober is getting close and my tickets to see Robben and Larry Carlton together at Humphrey's in San Diego are sitting on my desk! I'm sure it will be a night to remember. Daved, are you handling Robben's gear for that show? I'd love to just say hello in person. |

A guitarist interview a while back quoted him as using D'addario 10-46 for all his guitars.

I asked Robben at a seminar a few years back where he was playing the Tele and he said 10's.

Adrian,
As Ron & Frank mentioned, Robben uses D'Addario 10's for all of his electrics.
As for the LC gig at Humphrey's, I doubt I will be there. Robben is being well taken care of on those shows by Larry's crew and I have my hands full with Gregg Allman and Derek Trucks at the moment.
But I'm sure I'll be thru with Robben again down the road. _________________ B C-ing U!

I know I'm asking too much but it would be fun to learn some set-up tips from you Daved. "How to set-up up your Tele like Robbens". String-height, relief etc. You're the pro!
+ I haven't seen any close-up pics of Robbens old 60's Tele. Would be interesting to see her up close. Is it semi-transparent blonde that's started to yellow or is it a solid "vintage white" ?
