Hi
I have a ticket for the 'evening with robben ford' in manchester at the academy of sound this wednesday. Does anyone know what its about? Is it a clinic? Do I bring my guitar? Can I record it?

like i've attended this summer you might take your guitar and a hand recorder. But the one i did was from 10 to 13 and 14 to 16 .
So depending on the lenght better wait for daved replie may be.
Have a great load of fun. Blob

hi,
I have ticket aswell for clinic.(got one for life cafe too). i enquired about the clinic at Academy of sound. Its more like an evening with Robben. He will play a little and answer questions and they said there will be a lot of audience participation. But unlike his all day clinics in the States there is not enough time for guitar "tuition". I,m not bringing a guitar. I wanted to video this event but they were adamant about no recording equipment..Cant wait

Hi Everyone,
I have been noticing some queries about the above event and as I been involved with setting it up with Dal I can clear up most things. It is taking plaxe at The Acadamy of sound music store in Manchester. Doors open 7.00pm for 7.30 start. It will last around 90 minutes. The masterclass and clinics in the States are full day so there is time for instruments and technicalities. However because of the time limit on the 19th its worthy to note not to take your guitar.
Robben will play and talk and hopefully give us a rare insight into himself and his approach to his work and art form. Don,t forget its not often you will get to see him in this kind of setting. There will be time for questions and hopefully fingers crossed time for the odd photo after. However I must stress no audio or video equipment to be brought in and no pictures during it. (there are known issues here, so no surprise)
I will be delighted to answer any queries or get things clarified..........All the best
