If you are looking for serious competition for the Robben Ford version, you should try to listen to the Eric Clapton version on his "Live in the Hide Park" DVD. But on the other hand I know you are very satisfied with RF's interpretation! Laughing

My two favorite non-Robben solos are Jeff Beck's on Stevie Wonder's Looking for Another Love, and Eric's on Badge. This was the first solo I learned note for note and the first time I understood switching modes in the middle of a solo. It's kind of like Little Wing. Even Eric played one chorus of it like Jimi before he did his own thing. Badge is one of those sacrosanct songs for me. The leslie, the solo, they make the song what it is. And I normally love turning songs inside out. But every song has it's essence. It might be the beat, the sound of a certain instrument, a particular comp part or vocal harmony. But it's the part that sticks with you and if you get that part right, you can do whatever you want with the rest. The vocal "ahhs" over the D are a cool touch and there are several other hip things in this, just for me he left out the best part. When I saw it on the back of the cover I went straight for it. Salivating over what Robben's awesome feel could do with this. He could have taken Eric's basic solo into the stratosphere. Expectations, what can you do?
