Where can I purchase the purple Pacifix patch cables? I've seen the website but are they available from any U.S stores?
Ron, as do most of the rest of us around here when seeking serious information, please ignore the BlueLobster behind the curtain, who often seems to enjoy trying to discourage newcomers. Not that he's a bad guy, he just has a sense of humor which often seems to make no sense at all.
Speaking for the REST of the community, welcome aboard.
In answer to your question, I'm not sure, as I get Robben's cables directly from the company, but I do not believe the Pacifix cables are yet readily available here in the States.
Bill Morgan, a longtime courteous and helpful member of this community would be the best source of information as regards your question as he was my initial connection to the company and lives in Japan. (Unlike Blob, who lives in France and therefor seems to know best what is going on in the rest of the world ... with attitude, as you may have noticed. ) _________________ B C-ing U!

Pacifix is currently looking into distribution of their cables and other products in the US and UK at this time. I don't know how that is going at this point. They have also recently expanded their facilities and opened up a store in the Yokohama area. When things get settled down a bit from the move, they will eventually begin offering their products online as well.
The puple Patch cable was originally intended as an interconnect cable for pedals, although it works well for console patch bays as well (Garth Webber has some in his studio that I got for him), and is only available in short lengths. The long cable that Robben uses was actually Daved's idea, and I believe that he has 2 of them. As far as I know, there are only 3 of those long Patch cables in existence, the 2 Robben has and mine. And I am afraid that Pacifix doesn't seem to want to sell them for some reason. I can tell you that they are quite expensive (a little 4" one sells for about $30 or so), so that may be part of the reason.
Pacifix has a full line of cables, but due to a potential trademark infringement problem, they have recently renamed them, and I have lost track of what's what now. One of the best sounding and most popular (and in my listening tests, the closest to the purple cable) was called The Shark. I'll have to ask what the new name is.
Coincidentally, last weekend, I spent 4 hours with a friend listening to cables using a special switching device he designed and built. Out of a big pile of cables, the ones we liked best were the purple Patch cable, the Shark, and, surprisingly, a cable made with Canare GS-6 wire. I subsequently went out and bought a bunch of Canare wire! (There was one other cable that sounded amazing, but it was made for me by a friend in the US, using a very hard-to-find wire that was apparently made for use in aircraft. I'm still researching that.)
