to be honest, Blob, I was just kidding, I just don't care about who wins. . But I must say I just LOVE to see Zidane play. esthetic reasons. To me he is the best footballer ever, better than old Pele ever was. Just around the time of the big finale I will arrive in Italy, so VIVA ITALIA!

Wow! I'm surprised no comments yet...

I started watching a couple of minutes into the 1st OT. The French players were carrying the action while the Italians were just standing around for the most part. I was hoping the French would just end it with a spectacular goal, which they almost did a couple of times. Then, that aweful head butt by Zidane changed my hopes for which team wins. I've been a player, coach, and spectator of many sports in my lifetime, and unsportsmanlike conduct always disgusts me. That was an outright assault! Anyway, justice prevailed in the end...

I did feel sorry for the rest of the French players when it was all said and done. Unfortunately, there's not much consolation for the losing team in any championship game. It seems that being the loser greatly overshadows the fact that they're the second best... Sad

I am still in a bit of a shock after the match. Zidane is my 10 year old's favorite player and he is most upset over the whole thing. Will be interesting to hear Zidane's side of the story, not that it will justify his behavior in any way, but it must have been something pretty ugly to set him off like that. And Materazzi does not have the best reputation out there anyway - from what I read he approaches soccer more like a hockey player.

Overall it was a great World Cup. Some great games and high drama. And poor refs - just like in any sport!

Materazzi is a good football player, but quite a disgrace as human being. Zidane is a really nice guy and a wonderful player, but this time he really got it wrong and he knows that.
It happens, I guess...

I think France were the better side in that game, we were quite lucky to grasp a victory.
In the Euro 2000 final we probably deserved to win and France scrored twice in the extra time, we can call us even ... Laughing

Wink . That forefront smash was truly an artwork : economy of movment, a real great melodic intent, something wild but noble in the eyes, you could see clearly the guy is a champion. On an other hand watch the dude falling : he really falls, he have no time to falsificate, he goes down for sure.
And some say he was hitten in the chest. What would happened if he was hit to the teeth.

So now after having my whole country suspended to a penis during one month (remember what i said about Zizou), it is 3 days non stop suspended to the lips of the naughty italian guy : Is it better to say you want to have unlawful carnal relationship with some female members of my family than you think i am potentially dangerous for society because of the color of my skin and the way my name sounds...........
Political men, & all these "jokers" from the media they really have a lot of time to waste & money too (but wait a minut that's our money).
And what about if Zidane is just playing another league & another game: you know to climb the mountain of success from nothing to living God, and finally quitting in doing something he always dreamed of : smashing the naughty guy while knowing it is the very thing not to do Now.
Just simple as it is . 'Coz in any country in this world you can't call name
a mom.....

That Materazzi guy was really nasty to hit Zidane's bald head with his chest! Very Happy

Only kidding....

Zidane probably did the right thing.....in the wrong place! Laughing

After all, he's only a football player, one of those guys who would run away from school and our teachers would tell us that "he will never make it in life". ;)

Check out Marco Materazzi's video:

He's certainly an interesting player to watch.
