I guess some of it might be found in the "Miles at Montreux BOX SET"...correct?
I wish I could lay my hands on some of that...

Regarding the Highlights from Complete MD at Montreux;
I once listened to it in a recordstore some years ago and remember Robben playing on only one song; Jean Pierre I believe, I may be wrong about on which song he played,but not about the number of songs.
The footage of George Duke trading fours with Robben is from the Montreux recording in 1986 with Miles of which I only have a pretty bad videotape.
Robben's playing on it is incredibly good though and I remember reading somewhere that he liked it and wished that they would bring it out on record.
He is playing incredible outside lines over a song called New Blues different from what I have ever heard before with Strat and Dumble.
Unbelievable inspiring and really very different from a player like Larry Carlton, who I also like, especially his earlier work.

I know he solos on Maze, Splatch, and human nature
no solos on Time after Time, tutu, Portia, or Hopscotch
I have been gambling on I tunes
I know he's got to take a solo on Burn, still curious if he solos on Wrinkle
I underestimated his rhythm guitar ability until I heard all of the above cuts. Even the tunes w/o the solos have some serious ear candy and it's like his rhythm is lead and his lead is the groove

Yup, the first time I ever heard Robben was the footage on a miles documentary
I was intrigued to say the least
How can we find out who has the rights to that stuff?
The thing is, someone mentioned The social music album which was tiki records (TR 02)
The one w/ duke is (TR 03) and is entitled "Time After Time"

The Highlights from Complete MD at Montreux-CD is an excerpt of all the recordings that were made of Miles' performances over the years at that particular festival (something to the amount of 8 CD's I think).
Of all those recordings (I think) only one track is included with Robben's playing on it on the Highlights CD.
That was what I was trying to point out, not that he hardly played any solo's at all during this particular concert in '86.
On the contrary, I have a poor videotape of the '86 event and he is all over it, soloing extensively in almost all the songs, and really gets lots of room to stretch, not to mention his rhythm playing, which is excellent also.
In the middle of the concert George Duke appears as a special guest, and they trade fours, in which Robben weaves a quote of a West Side story song in the middle of his solo. Awesome!
I don't know anything of the rights to that stuff,nor have I ever heard of Tiki-Records.
I do have an audiotape of his playing at the North Sea Jazz Festival with Miles (during the same tour in '86) of which he didn't know.
I gave it to him when he was touring the Netherlands in '92 with the Blue Line, and the whole band signed the Ford-CD's that I brought with me.
The Blue Line trio did a kind of unplugged session for the Dutch Radio that I work for.
They did three songs including Help the Poor, and Robben played a rented Ovation acoustic and still sounded just like Robben Ford; can you believe it?
They couldn't bring the backline because they were performing at the Paradiso in Amsterdam the same day,and were already set up.
That was nice; to be able to talk to the master, who had such a big influence on my playing.
My wife bought me the 11 cd boxed set of the Montreaux recordings a few years back and I love the whole set . I really like the guitar work of Mike Stern, John Scofield, and particularly Robben from the 1986 shows. Robben really tears it up on Splatch and Jean Pierre. Splatch is the tune where George Duke sits in and rips off a long solo.
One of the keyboardists for this lineup was Adam Holzman. I recently had a chance to chat with Adam while he was in the Ithaca area playing with the Mahvishnu Project,and he had fond recollections of the 1986 lineup and felt that Robben's bluesy style added much to this Miles version.
Many who claim to be Miles purists,seem to look at the 80's synthesizer driven Miles music with some disdain. I just love the groove and feel to the music as evidenced in the clips Road Warrior so graciously shared with us. Just another chapter in the huge body of work Miles left us that really gets to me. I love it.
