Dave,

Might you have insight to the possiblity that Robben might make a guest appearence at Eric johnson's show at the IMAC Theater in Huntington Sat, Aug19th?

Robben is appearing at the Bald Hill Blues jam the next day and the venues are not far from each other. It seems like a perfect opportunity for such a happening. Especially since Roscoe is play with EJ.

Thanks,

Rod

Sorry, I'm out with Allman Brothers till the beginning of September and won't be working with Robben till then, so I don't know.

Daved,
Your post re possibility of Robben showing up on stage with EJ says you will be on the road with the Allman Brothers until early Sept. Will you be at the Red Rocks show on Sept. 1? I see that Robben will be in Utah the weekend before. It sure would be extra special if Robben showed up to jam with Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes again (at my favorite venue). I recently traded someone in Germany for the March 16 ABB show at the Beacon where Robben sat in for the final hour or so and it is spectacular. Hey, a guy can dream, can't he? Best of luck on the road.

Yes, I will be at Red Rocks. It is the last show of the ABB touring this year and I don't believe that Derek will be there either. I think (I have to confirm this yet) I heard he will miss the last few shows because of his commitments to EC this year. I'm not yet sure who will fill in for him if he is, indeed, going to MIA.

Say it ain't so, Daved! If Derek has to be somewhere with EC, I know a lot of people that will be very disappointed (myself included and I'm only traveling 30 miles to see the ABB). That band is set up for two kick-ass guitarists and I don't think Warren can create the same sound by himself. But, if Robben could step into the breach, now you're talkin!. I'm going to nose around on the ABB board to see what else I can learn, but thanks for any information you can share. Peace.

P.S.: A quick look at the Derek Trucks Band news section and an Eric Clapton tour listing shows their European dates have already ended and the Fall U.S. tour starts in Minneapolis on Sept. 16. So, it looks to me like the ABB will have their full lineup unless EC needs more than 2 weeks of practice time with Derek (you undoubtedly know more about these things than I do, but that doesn't sound likely). Regardless, I'll look for you at the show, I've got friends coming from Austin and we are going to party like there's no tomorrow! (cause there might not be).

Checked with Derek & the powers that be last night and I'm told that scheduling has now been worked out such that Derek WILL be out here with ABB all the way thru to the end of this leg.

Fantastic!!! I'm very thankful for the news -- you did not have to go to the trouble, but I'm glad you did! Hope to run into you at the show!.
