Well, I was able to clear my schedule for next weekend and I'm planning on flying out to the Robben Ford Clinic in Seattle that Don Mock is putting on (Saturday the 26th). Is anyone else from the RF Board going? |

JackD: No, but I'm paid up and booked into a hotel in Ojai, CA for the October 14 clinic. I've been looking forward to attending one of Robben's clinics for some time and was finally able to get to do it. And, to make it even better, I have tickets to see Robben with Larry Carlton on October 12 in San Diego. It should be quite a week. Have a great time at the clinic in Seattle. |

Hi, Jack,
I'm signed up and was planning on driving over from Spokane, but something came up that might keep me from going ... I may give up my seat to my best friend's 14 year old son instead, who lives in Seattle.
I've heard Robben so many times (although never enough) and have all the videos available. Have you been to one of these before? I'm wondering how much I will miss by not being there. I'm not really sure what I would ask Robben and I imagine the video clinic might be a bit more structured by necessity, than a regular clinic in Ojai, so maybe some of the opportunity to take the conversation in different directions might not be there. Other than the obvious pleasure of sitting and listening to one of my favorite guitarists chat about his views on music, I'm hoping the DVD will be a reasonable substitute, if I can't get there. |

Yebdox:
I went to one in Ojai and 2004 and I also sponsored a clinic with Robben in Detroit (also in 2004). Both were great fun. I think the idea for the Seattle clinic is to capture what happens in the Ojai ones. Given that it's an all-day event and they will be boiling it down to a DVD, I'm sure it will still be fairly open (although a bit more structured than the Ojai events).
In any event, I think it will be great. I'm actually flying out from Michigan to make it out. If you can still swing it, I think you'll be very happy that you did. |

Just curious why Robben's tour dates such as the one in San Diego are not listed at his site. Any information about other shows Robben is doing after his gigs in Europe?
