Great to hear from you, Dave.
I was going to contact you and invite you to the show, but word went around the production that the show was massively sold out and there were absolutely no guest spots available for the crew.
Let me know if you plan to come out again next time around. We'll see what I can do.
What did you think of the "house" I built around Gregg? Was that cool or what!?!?! Especially when the LD put a couple of Par Cans inside to help keep Gregg warm, and then proceeded to work the cube's changing colors into the show.
Yeah, I'm "cock-struttin'"! During the various solos, several of the other band members came over to my work station and marvelled, wishing that THEY could have cubes of their own.
I wish I could have seen the stage from the audience.
Red Rocks felt, for me and my place in the music/entertainment world, like a musician who rips off a lick, or phrase, or performance that they KNOW will be talked about for a loooong time. I'm proud, yeah. I earned the right to be proud.
And what troopers you all were... everyone with their raincoats and all, partying in the mist and rain!
A Production Side Note About That Show:
After our previous show in Chicago, I put Young Derek's 2 Super Sixes on the tail of the truck before it left for Colorado.
That way, when the semi's showed up at Red Rocks for loadin at 8 a.m., I could pull the amps off the truck and take them into Fat Willy's place for overhaul.
Willy is to these 2 amps as Alexander is to his Dumbles. So, being this close to his shop, he closed his shop doors and spent the day tweaking and freshening up the Supers.
Charlie, Derek's primary amp at Red Rocks had all fresh tubes, replacement of a few deteriorating components, and the fatiguing Weber speakers all replaced with new ones. _________________ B C-ing U!
