Hi... I am responding to the gentlman who spoke of a cyber jam.
Thank you for the compliment- I haven't been called a "gentleman" in a very long time...
Unfortunately, I'm still just an early intermediate as far as guitar playing goes, so I'm not a good "bar" for cyber jam quality. There are many others in this forum who are professional quality, and who could create some great and really interesting music. Of course, I'd love to be the guy in the back of the stage silently strumming along, and getting a free drink as part of the "band"...
Seriously, though, a concerted jam would be awesome!

I feel you can give us an impressive open E riff. Just seminal. _________________ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_music.cfm?bandID=147748

It's been an active month for Don....Just returned from the Grammys Music Cares event, and came home to the much anticipated review in the current issue (April 06') of "Vintage Guitar Magazine" Gear review

Sorry I haven't jumped into this thread earlier. I was two busy trying to collect on two great unsolicited e-mails I got a week or two ago. The first was from a 14-year old in England who'd inherited 9 million Pounds from an uncle, but the bank wouldn't give it to him until he found an honest adult to assist him. For a 40% commission. All I had to do to prove my honesty was to provide him with Social Security Number, birthdate, bank account wiring codes, etc. The second was from someone else in England telling me that Toyota had drawn my name at random (out of seven billion names worldwide, I guess) for a 750,000 Pound prize, and of course, all I had to do to get my prize was give him my Social Security Number, birthday, etc. As these messages both came from Great Britain, and not Nigeria, I figured they were legit. In the meantime, I keep getting these pesky calls from my credit card issuer about someone running up tens of thousands in charges for Baker guitars or something ...
Seriously, if it's about guitars, as far as I'm concerned it's not spam. In the meantime, Victoria: Cool about the cello. I just recently watched the CMT "Crossroads" concert show with Lovett and Bonnie Raitt. I believe Lovett's cellist is John Hagan. Otis Taylor uses a cello on ocassion as well. I'm afraid to let you know, however, that about four years ago I sold my cello, so that I could get back into playing guitar. The cello was my primary instrument from about age 8 until I graduated from college, but then sat unused year after year. I hope it's in the hands of a regular player these days.
Welcome aboard to both you and Mr. Warren. _________________ - BlueRunner

Waitress: Well, there's spam egg sausage and spam, that's not got much spam in it.
Blob: I don't want ANY spam!

Victoria: Enough with these "It's been quite some time since I posted on here"'s and "I haven't posted on this site in quite some time" stuff. You should post every day. It's good for you. Tell us what CD is in your car's player. Ask us about some difficult chord voicing Robben's used. Tell us about concerts and gigs you've been to. Offer to take the "wokker" who was looking for a "pan pal" out on a date. Tell Daved what a great guy he is ('cause he's great enough to merit such a comment from each of us, every day). Ask Elizabeth how school's going. Link onto something strange on YouTube so that we can all share it.
Don't worry, we won't forget that Mr. Warren is making nice guitars. You can even tell us about it once in a while, and we'll enjoy getting caught up.
Serious, what CD IS in your car's deck right now? _________________ - BlueRunner
I would enjoy occasionally posting on here and sharing in other areas of music, and support...and virtual comraderie. So...Thank you for pointing this out to me, and for being kind enough to invite me into the cyber community without the more usual comment of Spamming...which for some reason I never quite felt like I was doing that. I only know that Don put his heart and soul into someting...for 8 years... walked away from corporate america to follow a dream, a vision and to bring that into full fruition from it's incubation....while raising wonderful boys and teaching 40 students to play and to hopefully inspire a true love of playing the guitar...I know many on here work hard as well, and all artists know the term "starving artist" all too well...so, to just point out, before I reveal what is in my cd player...that my intent was to see a person I care about get the exposure, and recognition as so many others desire and wish for...I find it such a shame that historically, so many great people, inventions, and works get most of their recognition after they are dead...sad really. I only hope everyone on here enjoys the recognition and joy of seeing their work recognized and appreciated for what it is...
OK, I am now officially stepping down off of my soapbox...
As for the cd in my home player...it is Segovia & Williams Guitar Virtuosos...I gave it as a gift, but have been enjoying listening to it so much lately...very soothing. I have also been listening to my Benny Goodman cd quite a bit.
In my car I have Ella Fitzgerald, my daughers demo I never get tired of listening to (especially her version of Etta James "At Last")...and many other cds on my visor and in my case.
As for David..I dont know much about him really...except for reading his posts a bit. And Elizabeth? What is she in school for? Now i'm curious.
I just opened a massage office myself and am trying to get my practice up and running...while getting my daughter moved into a shoebox in Manhattan this weeeknd ready to start her Sony/BMG internship fresh on Monday morning! A lot on this end...so this is a nice break, writing on here.
Most of my recent concerts have been more local shows...friends, no national acts lately.
So...Thank you Bluerunner
nice to be back on again...sorry for the long post
