I just discovered that song and I can't get it out of my head. Does anyone know what gear Robben was using at that stage? TIA |

TIA | Fender RF model guitar(pictured on the CD cover), Dumble amp with 2X12" speaker cab. Speaker cab loaded with EVM 12L speakers, was general "Talk To Your Daughter" album era (recording and live) gear.
I saw many shows of the band in clubs in the L.A. area in the year or two before the CD came out. As best I recall, band personnel were the guys on the recording and guitar equipment was as mentioned with the addition of a rack of a few pieces like Lexicon reverb. Set list included many tunes from the recording such as the one you mentioned. |

I think the song has not been in the set list in a few years but I don't think it changed much over the time it was. Sounded pretty much like the recording as I recall. BTW, IMO a comparison to the original (Mose Allison) version shows off a nice side of the Robben Ford creativity for adapting a song to ones musical style and character. |

I believe Robben dissects this tune in his "The Blues and Beyond" instructional DVD, along with ""Revelation" and some other concepts.
Heady stuff, but if you want to see how Robben approaches this tune, you can get it straight from the man on that video. |
