They're Grrreat !

I discovered another very cool concert video site last night - http://www.woodsongs.com/showlist.asp

They claim they are the "world's biggest online acoustic performance archive" but many of the shows are electric Blues.

I watched Show #414, featuring Charlie Musselwhite and Anne McCue. Both artists play music from their brand new CDs. Charlie was in Tampa last weekend with the same band, but I missed his show Sad

I like Anne McCue's music a lot too.

FYI, the stuff on youtube.com is streaming video, meaning it isn't meant to be downloaded. However, there is software out there that can download streams (at least for Apple, don't know about PC, but I imagine there is for it also). While I haven't tried one yet, I've read that it works...

Actually, the youtube.com videos are Flash files and, normally, can't be downloaded and saved to your computer. However, if you're using a Mac, there a great program called TubeSock that will let you transfer the videos to iTunes. It works perfectly and they're working on a Windows version that should be released soon. Here's a link to their website:

There's a minimal $15.00 charge for the program and it's worth every penny. Hope this was helpful.

JohnnyZ: It's mostly one step and done........imported and converted into iTunes after you begin to play the video and then open TubeSock. There are certain videos (a few of Robben's) that have "embedding disabled by request" and when TubeSock opens you won't actually see the video playing within the program. However, while it's playing in YouTube, just click "Save" and it will still be imported and converted in iTunes anyway. It is a great program and, as I said..........worth every penny of $15.00! I hope this explains it a bit better.

It was good being able to view Robbens brother Pat talking about that one album that came in to Ukiah by mistake. Pat looked as though he was full of life...and an excellent drummer.......and Mark blowing that harp endlessly......

This is free if you only want to convert one file at a time.

Yes I did get it to work really easily. The steps are:

1) Copy the link into the space at the top of the page and press download
2) a little further down the page the link address turns up and you press the download button to the right of the link.
3) depending on your browser it will ask you where you want to save it
4) once saved changed the file extension to .flv
5) watch and enjoy!!

I've got so many great clips now I never would have found again.
