Hi Daved,
It was a pleasure to meet and talk with you before the show. As you will recall, I bought the tickets when Robben was originally listed as being part of the band on Gregs website. Thanks for campaigning (unsuccessfully) with Robben to not cancel.
Anyways, the Johnson City Music Hall was a great venue and I thought the sound was well done. However, I thought the band sounded a little lackluster and directionless. While the band was competent, nobody stood out and drove the music to high peaks. I thought Jack Pierceson played well, but sounded more like a studio musician, ranther than a true performer who can sparkle in a live situation.
Anyways, please ask Robben to tour the East Coast after completing the new album (hopefully before the end of the year).

John,
I can certainly understand why you felt that way about the show, but consider that it was the very first show of the tour and that Jack only had half a day of rehearsal with the band the day before.
The shows since have been rapidly getting tighter and the musicians are starting to find and develop their voices. (As with any 'new' band, I remember that it was a good couple of weeks before the GA&F band with Robben and Willy really jelled and reached their stride.)
The other night Jack dropped jaws and bulged the eyes of the audience when he found, held, and brought the house down with a beautiful note on "Melissa" that would have shamed Nigel Tufnel. It may STILL be sustaining somewhere out there in the ether! Jack told me later that the only reason he let finally let it go was because his finger started hurting. _________________ B C-ing U!
