Now that I'm back home from the RF/UK tour, on the road with Gregg Allman, and the dust has settled and the paperwork is done...

Let me extend a personal thanx to the boys in the Sam C. Lees band (Sam, Andy, & Adam) for their "tireless" efforts to help make this venture a success.
Those who attended the shows are, I'm sure, unaware that besides providing support, they also provided transportation, equipment, and muscle power getting us to the shows, setting up and tearing down the gear, addressing faulty gear issues, and then performing every night on top of it all.
I, for one, greatly appreciate their efforts to make the tour a success.

A great group of guys, they also kept us entertained (creepy, gritty voiced phone calls in the wee early hours: "'Allo, Dave. How are you, Dave? You're my wife now, Dave" Laughing ) and I would like to extend a special thanx to Sam for running me out to 'Royston Vasey' when we were near Hadfield so I could get some wonderful photos of me by the local statue, the local butcher shop, and the local pub. The day was perfect... suitably dreary. I loved it! (How DOES one post photos here?)

For you who are not English and therefore probably unaware of the League Of Gentlemen, The Lees band boys were very much surprised that I was even aware of, much less such a big fan of the whole Royston Vasey thing ("A local shop... for local people... there's nothing here for you!") and Sam, who lives near Hadfield (where the show was filmed) was most gracious to run me out to the location when we were nearby. It was very much a treat for me, one which will stay with me for many a year.

Yes, I now have one of Paulie's pens, along with a Royston coffee mug and bumper sticker from a local shop.
And yes, for those "in the know"... I DID leave! Laughing Laughing
(I've also ordered my "Papa Lazouris Travelling Circus" t-shirt along with my "I've just made a little brown fish" t-shirt and my "Hello Dave" t-shirt from the website in England and can hardly wait to get home, put them on, and offend somebody!)

Thanx again, guys. I had a great time and appreciate all you did for us.

(BTW, for those here in the States who may be interested, the "League of Gentlemen: Welcome To Royston Vasey" complete DVD boxset of all 3 seasons plus the Xmas special is now available in the U.S., if you want to check it out.
However, be aware that, considering American sensibilities and style of humor, this show is not for everyone and could very easily offend. (To paraphrase: "It's a local show for local people only... there's nothing here for YOU!")
Now, if they would only release the movie "League of Gentlemen: Apocolypse" in region 1 DVD format, I would be a very happy camper!)

Welcome back, Daved. I know we all appreciated your postings from the road and for keeping us up on all things Robben on this tour. From all the other posts about the various gigs it sounds like you made a lot of new friends!

L of G is a great show - and it is offensive, which is part of its charm. It is not on BBC America anymore, which is where I ran across it a few years ago.

Cool Daved: Thanks so much for keeping all of us in the loop back here in the States.

Dave, see you at the Greg Allman concert at Feather Falls. I'll have a Robben Ford Tshirt on from a concert in Nevada 4 years ago (JA Nugget).
We meet Robben and the entire band at Star Bucks in Truckee. It was pretty funny. This was my first concert with Robben a friend took me (Blaine). We were talking about the concert inside Starbucks when my looked out side and said your not going to belive this but Robben and the band are walking this way. Sure enough we shared a cup of joe and off we wnet andf so did Robben. Thats when Blaine thought what was I thinking I didnt get a picture Damn. See ya Saturday night
