Cool Particularly Ron S.: What can any of you tell us Colonials about Aynsley Lister? He's had cuts on the two most recent sample CDs that come with Blues Revue Magazine, and he sounds great.

From what part of the UK is he? Have any of you heard him live? What can you tell us?

Thanks!

Aynsley Lister's caught my ear too. He gets quite a bit of e-play from 1.fm, an internet blues music site...

Hi Bluerunner,

can't really help i'm afraid. What I do know is that he is a highly respected blues artist here in the UK (I have never seen him play). He also has contributed to the UK guitar mags technical columns. his Cd's have also had rave reviews. That's about it!

I think Matt Schofield probably holds the most UK interest right now, and I have to say deservedly so in my opinion (Ron Sayer is bl**dy superb too Wink )

Cheers,

DD

I have too agree about Matt Schofield. I'm pretty sure that I mentioned it before, that I bought his live cd on a whim after listening to a few samples, and was very pleasantly surprised. Please, someone, convince Matt to bring his trio to the States for some gigs... Very Happy

And, after getting a hold of Mr. Sayer's cd and playing the hell out of it (good thing it's disc and not vinyl cause it would be toast by now!), I'm anxiously awaiting the new one! And, bringing the band across the pond would also be most welcomed... Very Happy

I picked up a used cd, "Everything I Need" (2000), by Aynsley Lister last week at my local record shop. I'm really surprised I've never heard of this guy before. He's got a great voice and I like his playing ! He does a killer version of "Little Wing", but he also writes his own songs. I haven't heard any of his recent music yet but I like what's on the early cd.

re: used cds

My 1st couple of Robben Ford cds were used, and after listening, I couldn't believe that someone would part with them!

And, that's it- time to go shopping for Aynsley Lister cds... Very Happy
