I have a suggestion.
Does the team think ... that it would be a good idea, if it were possible, to have a Question and Answer topic with Robben on this site, rather like Pat Metheny has done on his? This, obviously, would depend on Robben's willingness to participate, but I'm convinced that we would have plenty of questions. Pat Metheny's answers really brought you close-up to the man and this was a really nice personal touch on his part. Clearly, Robben may well have very different ideas, and this only a suggestion, but what do think?

I think it's a great idea but like in the other boar it will be daved playing the missing link between him and us . And i am sure it's done yet.
Daved i am sure you talk Robben about this..... when you both have time to do so.
Anyway why not like in the good days, Daved picks the top of the cake
and Robben answer him. Since he is not that cyber folk.
Blob.

......particuarly Leftbenders! What about using an audio file, with the most popular type of questions, which could go something like..
"Robben, Nineacres asks "What would be your ultimate compliation album?"
Answer: ???
I have got to say this is an excellent idea, particuarly as I did not have chance to speak to Robben for too long at the Jazz cafe recently, and this would certainly allow members to have a more personal rapport with Robben, and indeed, allow Robben to express himself in a different way.
Lets hope Robben will agree. Over to you Daved/Dal.
All the best,

I found the timing of this post very interesting in that, the very night before, as Robben and I chatted preshow in the dressing room in Manchester, Robben brought up this very subject.
As I've stated before, the result of the mayhem on the other board disappointed and disheartened Robben as well as it did me and the serious Robben fans. Robben was enjoying, and just starting to get comfortable with, the internet forum, when the Blue Meanies arrived and desecrated Pepperland.
On this particular night in Manchester, he & I were talking about the new board and its user friendly environment. Robben was asking me how things were going over here and I was telling him about how the response has been quite enthusiastic and well-natured. With a big smile, he asked me what I thought about the possibility of doing, as we used to on the old board, a personal response thing wherein every few months I would print out a list of questions from you fans and then I would post his answers for you all.
I told him this was very possible and that his fans would probably love it.
He then asked me if he might even be able to go as far as personally doing a short online chat at some point. I told him that I would check out this possiblity with Dave (your friendly local moderator & host) as I knew he had, at one point, tried to set up a chat room associated with the board. Robben said, if it could be worked out, that he would be interested in doing exactly that for a brief chat (about 20 minutes to 1/2 an hour) and see how it works out. If he felt comfortable and it went over well, he said he would consider actually doing the online chat thing maybe a couple times a year.
SO, as it stands now everyone, Robben has expressed interest in definitely doing the "Q & A" thing thru me next year, as we used to do on the old board.
AND, he is also inquiring about POSSIBLY doing a live on-line chat sometime next year if the Captain can set up a safe, inviting, and comfortable environment for Robben.
BUT, these are things we will be looking at doing next year sometime, so you must all excercise the patience of Job and wait till we can get the particulars worked out.
First, when Robben tells me he is ready, I will let you know and give you some time to post the questions you would like him to answer. This will probably happen not too far in the near future.
Meanwhile, I will be talking with Dave (the Captain) about a nice, friendly environment for Robben to "meet" with you all. This will probably be later in the year after we have worked out the necessary "accommodations". _________________ B C-ing U!

This is great news Daved. It should really allow the fans to have a more personal rapport with Robben and visa versa. Please give good notice when this is going to happen.
Over to Captain & Daved. Best of luck.
Cheer's,

YEOOOOOWWWWWW, an online chat or an interview would be fantastic! Indeed Daved, the Blue Meanies have not reared their hostile little heads here, and the climate in the new Pepperland is delightful. What a welcomed relief it is to enjoy this environment and intimate ambience we feel here at Starship Command.
Now, may I please emphatically remind all of you that, what some of us lack in guitar/amp knowledge, we attempt to make up for in English expertise? If any editing, composing, sweeping, window cleaning, background vocals, eraser clapping, or any other "ing" is needed (!) I enthusiastically volunteer. This is great news!! I'm so glad Robben has taken an interest in this message board - I just hope noone spoils it this time. This is a great place for Robbens fans to get together and show our appreciation for the man and his music. How would the online chat thing work? Would each question submitted be moderated? How fast would this be? I guess these are questions the captain is looking into as we speak.
