We are having big discussions about bass tone. Our current bass player has a Warick 5 string a new Yamaha head (I think ist 500 watts) and then a plethora of speakers, One older Peavey 18" cabinet one Yamaha Cab with 2 10's and has the original older Peavey head that houses an amp with 2 10's. Not sure about the wattage of the Peavey head. All of this just sounds thin to me. I mentioned maybe a new or used Ampeg cab with 8 10's and some sort of new head maybe Ampeg also. Ampeg seems to be the Holy Grail of Bass. Every video you watch there is almost always an Ampeg Cabinet for bass. I played with a guy(years back) that had an old Sunn head with a DeHi custom cab. Wow great sound but he dosent play any more and we love our current bass player just trying to help with tone. Where is BLOB?
