It seems the content of the posts has resumed it's original "clean" status. Maybe you other guys have been hard at work!
However, I have noticed that there seems to be a vastly increasing members list comprising of non post contributors whose web site links either to a commercial site, or something along the lines of recent unwanted posts. We as moderators cannot vet these members. This may be made more difficult because some may actually be genuine forum members, who are simply inactive. But those who aren't, are still polluting this board, even if more passively.
Do we simply ignore these less profound spammers?
What do you think??
Cheers,

After examining the list of most recent signed-up members, it sure appears they may be highly possible spammers "hanging their hats" on a site (this discussion board) for future spam attacks on this site or others. Also, it could be for Google purposes, as well. The more links someone has on other websites is what determines how high they show up on Google when someone does a search. But, my experience leads me to believe most of the newest "members" with website links are spammers. If you click on any of the links, remove all of the URL except the www.company.com, and try to access just the main domain, you'll see that most of them do not access any website........a sure sign of a spammer. If it was me............I'd absolutely remove any "member who has signed up using this ploy. Possibly, Dave will look into this.[/img]

I'm in the computer business and fairly well versed in most areas...such as spammers and their tactics. It's really a mess and all of us need to do whatever it takes to take them down a few notches! Since all of us on Robben's discussion board are either guitarists or music lovers, it's in our best interests to be watchful and diligent about having the bad guys removed.

Wow, just for the heck of it, I took a look at the Memberlist, and about half of the latest joinees are likely spammers. Like the ones from China, Taiwan, Mexico, Portugal, and the Phillipines, just to pick a few, all with Anglo names (probably fake), and all with suspicious websites (probably crap). Amazing, and scary at the same time, how they infiltrate...
