Hello!
I've been a fan for a couple years now and I'm dying to see Robben Ford live. Does he ever come out to the east coast? I know for a fact he'd sell out mid-range to mid/large venues in the Baltimore/Annapolis Marland area.
Can I start a petition, or what?
thanks for the info!

Welcome, Timmy.

Robben regularly plays the Baltimore/Annapolis area when touring in support of new albums and, since he is currently mastering his newest CD (scheduled for release in August) I would not be at all surprised to find him in your neck of the woods later this year or early next year.

He has performed at the Ramshead Live when he was out with Gregg Allman & Friends, but when headlining his own tour he usually shows up at the Ramshead Tavern. I would keep an eye on their schedule if you want to watch for him in your neighborhood.

Thanks for the info Daved!
I'm at Ramshead in Annapolis often; I live only 5 mins from there. I've been keeping an eye on the schedule looking for him for quite some time; I would have gone to the Allman tour in Baltimore if I knew he was there. I'd rather see him do his own thing though, so I'll keep an eye out at the Rams Head Annapolis schedule.
Thanks again!

Any idea when Robben will be starting to plan the tour to support the new CD? I want to make sure he makes it to the Detroit area as well!!

Timmy G.,

I am with you. I am originally from Pittsburgh, now living in Cleveland. We see very little of Robben on the east coast. It is like a miracle every 3-4 years. He definitely has a lot of fan base there and I have only been able to see him about 4-5 times myself in a 15 year span. I do have some good news for you, though. Even though it is a long way off, I just posted a comment you can read on here about the Berks Jazz Fest in Reading, Pa. I just came back from this years festival and the General Manager told me that Robben is being invited to play at next year's festival. About damn time. Chances are if RF has a new CD coming out in August, that means we will probably get to see him on the East Coast for a tour supporting that in the Fall of '07. But for sure, tell all your friends to plan on going to Reading, PA for the show next year. It will be awesome. As far as I know, I do not think Robben has ever been at Berks. The crowds are great, educated, polite, and love good music. Robben won't have to worry about anybody taking flash photos in his face while playing over there. He will be amazed at how knowledgeable the fans are at this festival. Super atmosphere. Robben better bring his A game for this show, because this festival is one of the plums on the calendar that all these artists look forward to going to when they get invited. They want to hear great musicianship and playing and I am sure Robben will do a great show for these people.
