I've been listening to John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers' new album, In the Palace of the King. It's a tribute to Freddie King and it's a great sounding Blues album !
Robben Ford appears as a special guest on "Cannonball Shuffle," and is backed by John on harmonica, Buddy Whittington on rhythm guitar, drummer Joe Yuele, bassist Hank Van Sickle and organist Tom Canning.
I bought the album as a download, and I couldn't find credit info on the other tracks, but there's LOTS of really sweet guitar playing (and all kinds of horns!) throughout the album. I think Buddy Whittington is probably playing lead guitar on many of the tracks -- he sounds awesome! Buddy also takes lead vocals on Big Legged Woman -- a great tune ! My other favorite tracks (after a just a few listens) are "You've Got Me Licked" and "Now I Got a Woman". The whole album rocks -- Freddie King-style ! _________________ Travelling by train of thought
