I was a Big consumer of beer , for me the best beer come from belgium, i tried a lot but Trappiste Rochefort and Orval are among my favorite, not to forget CHIMAY, but MARTIN pale ale is not bad either. Comin' to White beer as they say Hooegarden is the only one we can get over there in france but i enjoyed a plenty of different one while in belgium and they so good. BTW in france i find just one time a special edition of this one ........
While in LA so many years ago i was afraid by all these brands, so bad ,Bud & others , just like donkey pee, Rolling Rock is not bad.
BUT when i came to Seattle in 1995 , wow , these guys can brew.
Not to forget the Sierra Brewery near Sacramento , Good Beers, Good Bands. |

2 of my favorite guitarists are Dutch.
Jan Akkerman, who is often credited with pioneering the use of "volume swell" finger techniques
and
George Kooymans, who, along with his band Golden Earring, have been in my Top-O'-The-Top lists for decades.
I rarely drink beer (but when I do I usually prefer whatever dark, thick, ale catches my eye at the time) so I am inexperienced and really not qualified to give any sort of valid beer critique. _________________ B C-ing U!

Ah yes, Jan Akkerman! And, Focus! Next to my early Allman Brothers Band lp's, my early Focus lp's got some serious needle time...
I tend to imbibe on the suds, but I'm not well versed in the many various European imports nowadays. I've tried several of the popular local beers in my past journeys to Ireland, Germany, and Belgium, but the most satisfying brew I can remember was an ice-cold Czech pilsner on tap from this outdoor hot dog-type stand on a hot, sunny day in Hungary...

Frank, I must say that after 6 weeks of Lent (for health and not for religion) I really enjoy a pint!
But what I wanted to say before the discussion somehow drifted: JESSE VAN RULLER

I have some pictures of Vidar playing with Lucky Peterson last time he came to town. I'll try to find them. |
