Hey all, I'm a new member here, I've been serfing the page for quite some time, and I'm stoked to finally be a part of things. I am a huge Robben fan, and anxiously await the new disk. I had one question, and I hope this isn't being obnoxious. I am visually impaired, and use a screen reading program, and for some reason, I am unable to access Robben's new site. I can't navigate to the buttons on the top of the screen, and am unable to get past the front page.
Hope this isn't too annoying, but I wondered if anyone had any ideas around this problem.
Thanks so much, god bless all,
Kurt

Welcome!

I took a look at the website, and I'm not sure there's an easy solution to this problem.

The website is basically all done in Flash, so the "menu buttons" at the top are just part of the flash image, rather than being the usual clickable HTML text links. And clicking on those "buttons" doesn't open a new page (if it did, I could just post the links to the different pages). Instead, it just changes the Flash content.

Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a "non-Flash" version of the site available, and I'm guessing that's really what you would need.

Thanks so much for checking it out, this is a problem I've been having with more and more sites. It's a drag when the technology doesn't keep up. I'd love to see these vids people are talking about, if I could figure out a way.
Much appreciated, God bless,
Kurt

Hi Kurt,

I wish I had the answer for you, but unfortunately I don't. But maybe you could contact the webmaster/designer of the site and see if they know something we don't. I took a look at their website and, surprise(!), it's all flash based too so here is the contact email address:

info@bvcwebdesign.com

Good luck,
Jim

I checked the videos, thinking perhaps those would pop up external links I could past here. But, alas, no--like the other links--they just change the content of the flash box.

I would definitely email the web designer and see if they could provide some simple links for folks who really can't make use of the flash interface. Doing so would, IMO, be good web design practice in general.
