Just announced: 4 Nights at Yoshi's (Jan 22-25)! It's not on Robben's site yet, but that probably means more U.S. shows.
See ya there!

12bar, you can count on me. Aeolian? Patocaster? Other Bay Area folk? We didn't vote for Ahhhnold, but we LOVE to go see Robben!
What do you say David, Grant, Jim, et al? You are but a short flight away. We could have a fabulous dinner at Yoshi's, followed by, well, by, by ROBBEN!!!!!!!!!!!! What more could we ask? (Well, yes there IS one more thing for which I would ask, but I won't.. )
love, elizabeth:)

12 Bar, how did you find out about this, I've been looking on the Yoshi's site and don't see anything. Charlie Hunter and other fun stuff, but no Robben _________________ There are no such things as wrong notes, there's only the look on your face.

Aeolian,
I am on Yoshi's email list. They do a mailing periodically which covers acts they have booked for ~ the next 9 months.

Yes, a few nights at Yoshi's is one of the gigs being discussed for early next year (along with other west coast shows up into the Northwest), but my understanding was that it hadn't actually been confirmed yet. _________________ B C-ing U!

Well, bite my tongue!
I just received an e-mail from Dal listing possible Jan/early Feb dates in Hollywood, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, maybe a "Mornings On 2" performance in the bay area, Petaluma, Reno, Portland, Seattle, and then possibly routing east....
Now keep in mind that many of these dates are still yet unconfirmed. So if you are within reach of any of these locations, cross your fingers and we'll let you know once the official confirmations come in.
By the way, for Dave and those in the Colorado area, Dal also lists a performance of 3 or 4 acoustic songs at Radio station KBCO in Denver on the afternoon of December 15th.
Fending off the obvious questions (LOL).... sorry, but I don't know if this will be live or what the deal is as I just learned of this and have no particulars yet. _________________ B C-ing U!

Santa Cruz, eh? Saves me a trip to Oakland! Kuumbwa Jazz Center? BTW, KBCO's in Boulder, right Kirk? In your back yard buddy!
You ready for another trip out here, do the Kuumbwa/Yoshi's circuit?

There are four or five nights at Yoshi's in Oakland in mid-January. I don't have the exact dates, but I'll be there! It'll be my first time to see Robben.

Hey fellow board members,
KBCO is a lot like KFOG - they put out an annual CD of in-studio recordings by various artists, called KBCO Studio C, Vol. X (this year is vol. 15 and just came out this last Saturday). I'm PSYCHED that Robben is going to play in their station studio!!!
@ Jing Chi Fan:
Yes, the station is based out of Boulder, CO. My backyard, baby!
So I'll be listening all day next Monday to (hopefully) hear their live broadcast of his playing. Typically, KBCO will air just one or two songs from this performance on the day of, and then in the future (next December) we'll likely get to hear one of the others on the next KBCO Studio C release. These Studio C CDs are released in limited numbers to support the Boulder AIDS project, and without fail become collectors items in a hurry (check Ebay right now, keep in mind they sold for $10 on Saturday).
Grant
ps: I'll be at both his 12/14 and his 12/15 shows this coming week!!! _________________ Work hard, play harder |

Hey SteveRocks,
No excuses are ever needed here...especially for a fellow banana slug...I used to live on Beach Hill (before the speed bumps!) and at Neary's Lagoon a long, long, time ago.
It is but a hop, skip, and (okay a BIG) jump, but set your transporter northbound on 17, make the switch to 880 and don't put on your brakes until Jack London square. Since you are new, you will be REALLY glad you did. (I love the word "bitchen." I can remember when my mom used to have a caniption if I said that word!!!!! The Beatles were totally bitchen!)
Cupertino isn't that far away either...I'm not sure if tickets are still available to KFOG's Concert for Kid, but well worth the effort, since it is for a very worthy cause (and hearing some truly worthy Robben just sweetens the deal!)
Welcome! _________________ www.elizabethgage.com |
