You're absolutely right, Edmund, about the relationship of being together in person. I was picturing myself enjoying a fine beer with Esteban, and talking about his fine "gift of guitar" program for aspiring musicians. He might even let me play one of those exquisite pieces of craftsmanship! _________________ Soul on Eleven |

Johnny, I always thought it was SRV on your avatar! Asked Google - it's Esteban, never heard of him before, sorry for my ignorance _________________ www.soultingo.at

Edmund, re: Esteban...
I guess you have had to access US late night cable television infomercials to fully appreciate the Esteban mystique! I'm sure that he's rolling in the dough right about now, seeing that he's greatly expanded his product line, but several years ago, it seemed like everytime you changed the channel after midnight, there was Esteban narrating his miraculous comeback from a tragic automibile accident that forced him to stop playing guitar for ten years, and his "gift of guitar" to you, the consumer, is his way of giving back to humanity...
All kidding aside (and in case Esteban's reading), he is a talented player, and very successful. It's just that his schtick is pretty schlocky that it compels us to poke fun. Sorry, 'staban, no offense or harm intended. But, I'd still party with you, as long as you pay and give me a replica hat... _________________ Soul on Eleven |

Johnny - your timing is perfect. I just finished work on a particularly schlocky piece of music and was lumbering round looking for a theme. It is now entitled, 'Esteban's Gift'.
A friend listened to it earlier and said it would make a good soundtrack for a TV soap show, so you can see where I'm coming from.
I may post it later to my page at www.soundclick.com/davidmillion and I recommend a visit anyway if you need to feel good about your own guitar playing. Unoriginal, derivative and destined for the Mall but hey, I enjoy recording it and no animals are harmed in the process (except my dog Layla, who I think has permanent hearing damage from her regular duties as my 'objective reviewer').
If anyone out there produces TV soaps, just drop me an e-mail and we can agree terms...... |
