Here is the description of Truth on Amazon.com:
On his latest release, guitar legend Robben Ford speaks the truth...not just with the sound of his guitar, but with the vision behind his music as he ventures deep into the blues with aggressive lice, direct and honest vocals and an uncharacteristic, yet appealing, rough edge. The CD also features Susan Tedeschi on the song One Man's Ceiling Is Another Man's Floor. Robben will be on tour throughout the Month of August 2007.
Did they say, lice? _________________ "Somebody's got to make some music around here." - Robben Ford |

Aggressive Lice. What a great name for a band! JZ needs to get in on this. I can see it now:
[b]Don't miss Aggressive Lice and their tribute to Esteban!
Coming soon to a venue near you!
Gotta be there,

Whew. Just checked amazon.com. Yep, that's what it says, "aggressive lice." Sort of takes your appetite away.
I'm sure the reviewer meant "progressive lice."
But just in case, when your copy arrives, you might want to put it in a large plastic bag and fumigate it before opening the CD case. _________________ - BlueRunner |

I've worked on a couple of progrock albums and the reviews tend to come in from Germany, Italy and the Netherlands. There is no finer entertainment than feeding the foreign language text into Babelfish and reading the 'translation'. It is usually complete gibberish but there are always some gems.
So far, the word 'lice' is yet to feature in one of said reviews but it is only a matter of time.......... |

I PM'd Anne to tell her about the typo and she let Robben's management team know about it so they could get it corrected. Looks like that happened:
"On his latest release, guitar legend Robben Ford speaks the truth...not just with the sound of his guitar, but with the vision behind his music as he ventures deep into the blues with aggressive licks, direct and honest vocals and an uncharacteristic, yet appealing, rough edge. The CD also features Susan Tedeschi on the song One Man's Ceiling Is Another Man's Floor. Robben will be on tour throughout the Month of August 2007."
'Licks' seems obvious now, but I couldn't figure that out when I first saw it. Man I must be getting old. _________________ "Somebody's got to make some music around here." - Robben Ford |

Amazon may have caught the aggressive "lice" on its web site, but fortunately Esteban is still offering to send you an "alien key" with his guitar.
Check out http://www.esteban-guitars.com/?PD=AALG001&type=adwords&gclid=CNjCkaOP240CFSgRGgodaxc4mQ
By the way, Johnny Z: I know that Esteban is your idol, but back in the day, were you also a fan of Kenny Rogers and his quick pickin' guitar course? I seem to recall that was back in the late 1960's. Before he discovered he could make money roasting chickens. And a decade before he discovered that he could actually make more money by getting back on stage and singing. _________________ - BlueRunner |

Haha, BlueRunner! I actually do remember that Kenny Rogers' easy pickin' guitar course. Man, that was a long time ago... :-) _________________ Soul on Eleven |
