Hey Daved,

How does it come that Robben played before Robert cray at the BATACLAN ? Wasn't it better that Robben played after Mr.Cray ?

Greetings,

Fill from Brussels.

Hey filmore with all the respect i feel toward you my beloved DEA agent,
please WHY asking such a stupid question ???? Twisted Evil
As an egoistic person, like may be 92% of the people, i want my Roby's FIX FIRST, i don't want any substitution product . Get my point ?
Now i told u i miss one lung , but i didn't tell you that i've legs problems,
and that's not so important , but i love chiropractors, so when i go to a BluesLine , Ford Band Gig i don't like to wait hours it kills me . That the physical point of view.
Waiting one hour and a half to see robben performs is one of the meanest torture i've seen in this world Neutral . That's the metaphysical point of view.
The day i'll decide to pay for Robert Cray i'll go for robert Cray.
Which by the way , according to some of my Parisians Friends SUCKED a big time. So Better have Roby FIRST.

Fill,

A fair question, in my opinion. There are many behind-the-scene factors that go into putting together a "co-bill" show. I am not involved in the end that determines the billing arrangements and usually not involved in the scheduling of time segments.

However, in this case (as Robert's Production and Stage managers are both very good, long time friends... having come from the same Northwest production beginnings together, many years ago)... David, Steve, and I sat together onstage when we arrived at the venue and determained what we all considered to be "Fair" use of stage space and set lengths.

They were more than generous in sharing their lights, carried power, and offers of moving gear to give us comfortable room with a solid show. I, in return offered alternatives to their suggestions to provide them with the least hassle in set turnover, a minimum of gear movement on their part, and a quick departure from the stage to allow them plenty of time to prepare for their show.

Robert's crew was actually quite amazed at, and appreciative of, how quickly I had given them a clear stage, how trouble free the changeover went, and how much free time they ended up having before their set began.

It all comes down to teamwork, smiles, and communication.

As for who comes first in these situations, my input is not usually a part of the equation. This is determained by the politics of promoters, booking agents, and managers. In this case, I believe a good amount of the decision was made based on the fact that the initial booking was a Robert Cray gig, to which Robben was later added. Because of friendships, sales figures, and positive communications, it was then decided to make it a co-bill show, allowing Robben more time to perform.

Thanks for clearing that up Daved. And Blue...that's totally a fair question.... Confused

But...who would want to follow Robben..especially if you're a guitar player? That would be a tough act to follow! Razz

Hey Blob,

Thanks for being your beloved DEA-Agent...but I think I might surprice you when say that I can hold you in custody at the policestation for 24hours for questioning where the drugs arze comming from !!!! ha..ha.. lets meet.....!
You may cary 3 grams of weed but where does it come from, hé !

But before I take you down to the politcestation lets have a talk about Robben Ford and swallow a few beers at the Brussels LEFFE-CAFE !

Blob,
About my stupid question,
I like also Robert Cray a lot, but Robben Ford goes first !
But I liked to say that : when I could see both artists at one day together I like to see Robert Cray first (playing an 1/2 our for upwarming) and second Robben Ford for playing al least 3 ours.
I have all record of Robert Cray so let Robert warm me up and let Robben do the rest !

Nice talking to yaa,

Greetings,
Fill from Brussels.
