Is everyone here aware that Daved is no longer Robben's guitar tech and has not posted here for over a month? Does anyone know if Robben has actually been in touch with Daved to explain why, after he left it to his manager to tell Daved initially? |

From Daved's post about the parting, it appeared to me to be a private matter and all that Daved shared is all we need to know. I don't expect anything from Robben's side...
Just my humble opinion. |

Maybe.
I was more interested in whether people were posting in the Daved Zone in the hope that Daved was still here answering questions. It's quite cool if this board stays available as a guitar technical discussion area even if Daved's insights are no longer available. |

I believe all of us are hoping that Daved remains on this board as a "regular"... |

I saw Daved, albeit from afar, a couple of weeks ago at an Allman Bros. Band show working his butt off as he always does. I'd bet that he'll continue on with the Gregg Allman & Friends tour during the fall and winter months. I've met him several times now before and after gigs, and he's an incredible guy treating and talking to me like we've been friends for a long time. And, being the person that he is, I'm sure we'll see more of him in here in the future. And, don't forget, he has his own website, a myspace page, and the All Access Pass which is still linked near the top of this page... |

I know about the All Access site. I meant Daved's website. It sounded like he has a different website from that one.

Thanks, JZ. I googled Daved yesterday, but that site didn't come up. I'll bookmark it now!

Hi, all.
Yes, I am still around... mostly as a lurker over the last couple of months.
Seriously, things have been sooooo busy and complex that I've had little time to participate.
Now I am home for about 3 actual weeks, before we start up the GAF Fall & Winter touring... a chance to catch up on the things I must.
My thanx to all of you who have expressed support, both publicly and privately, I honestly do appreciate it.
I'll be brief today. Just got home from Farm-Aid in NYC. It was the last show of the '07 touring season for ABB.
T'was VERY cool on many levels!
My most personally selfish reasons being, the memories I now, and forever will, possess of sitting about 3 feet from Willie Nelson and Gregg Allman in the front lounge of Willie's personally owned tourbus... after I brought Gregory his Gibson J-200 and was then personally introduced to Willie by Gregory... waiting and watching while they worked out a quick version of "Midnight Rider" to do together as an acoustic duo right before the ABB took the stage.
Another was virtually the same scenario for our show the day before in Atlanta, only this time with Dave Matthews in his trailer backstage, Gregg and his Taylor, and a runthrough of "Mellisa" for Gregg's guest spot with the DMB.
I will never forget watching Willie and Dave (from opposite ends of the popular music history spectrum in both time and experience), both nervously stuttering and stumbling with respect and admiration as Gregory went over with them their parts and the arrangements he wanted to use.
Another 'moment' was during the DMB show, standing center stage holding Gregory's Taylor, as the DMB band member's all rushed in with wide, sparkling eyes and big grins, crowding around us, eager to greet Gregg and personally shake his hand.
It really shed light on me as to the lofty place that Gregg Allman and the ABB ("Who's that? Sorry, but I don't think I've ever heard of them..." - G.Q. Public) hold in the esteem, history, and conscience of the more prestiges member's of the nation's musical community.
A quick note:
Robben and I have been in touch.
Though I'm sure we'll do more work together down the road, you won't see me with Robben on a regular basis for awhile.
He and I are cool.
No "problems" with each other, it's all just business, which I've been in long enough to understand, anticipate, and be in a position to deal with easily and effectively.
It's all positive and I'll expand more when I have the time.
Right now, though, things are busy, productive, rewarding, and enjoyable for me over in the "southern rock" communities of the ABB, GAF, DTB, Susan Tedeschi, and Govt. Mule... and should keep me busy till, and hopefully between, the occasions that Robben feels he again has work for me.
Gotta run now, but I'll be around. _________________ B C-ing U!
