Hey Dave, its hard to believe it but the Sunday show I thought was even better then the first show!!! Unbelievable time I went with my parents and while I was standing in line Dewayne Pate walks out the front door of Yoshi's and I got to say hi to him(I had just net him the day before at the Let The Children Play festival in San Jose). And Taku Sakashta was also there(I got a picture with him!) and Robben said that Patrick came to the Friday show. It was a great concert and IMO it was better than the Wednesday night show.

How bizarre life can be. We went to the 7 pm show, planning to stay for the 9 pm, if they let us, which they usually do. I had heard the 7 pm was sold out. Pretty unusual for a Sunday night. Anyway, when we went to pick up the tickets, we were given 9 pm tickets. Huh?? Since we did not have the e-mail confirmation with us, we walked to Barnes and Noble and spent a bundle of some good literature, then came back to have dinner at Yoshi's, hardly a sacrifice. During dinner, I mentioned to the server that we had been given the wrong tickets, adding that it would be great to get a table right at the stage. They were happy to oblige, so at last I got to sit where I like to sit, right on the edge of the stage, just to the right of the amazing Mr. Ford.
The 9 o'clock started out looking like it was going to be something to remember. Robben opened by saying something like, "Welcome to the second set; it is a well know secret that you always get a better deal the second show at a club." Whoa, that was an understatement. Everyone was absolutely on fire, and I mean everyone. Gary Novak is such a powerful drummer, but his sticks were an absolute blur. I gave up trying to watch them, turning my gaze to Robben and Mike.
The bass player, Andy Hess (Gov't Mule) not only played well, but seemed to be having a blast. At the other shows, it wasn't that he looked miserable, but he was there, played well, and that was that. The look on his face when Robben and Mike traded solos on Lovin' Cup and others, was priceless. Even he was amazed, and the enjoyment was readily visible on his face.
Robben and Mike kept trading solos that escalated to heights I haven't seen in some time, and each of them looked like they were having so much fun. I love the way playing with another great musician just drives one to play better. It gives a magic that can only happen on those rare occasions. I am so glad I was there to see it, because everyone in the entire place was having a wonderful night.
I agree that Wednesday night it looked like Robben was having fun. Friday night he was a bit more relaxed, but Sunday night he more talkative, full of some wry humor, and looking like he was loving what he was doing. That always makes me smile; to see a great musician playing fabulously, but really enjoying himself doing it, is truly a wonderful sight.
The crowd, including yours truly, was, ahem, a bit rowdy, but we know not to talk during the music. At the end of each song, we got louder and more demonstrative, which of course is self perpetuating, and in my opinion, only adds to the fun of the evening. I like to hoop and holler for something I have truly enjoyed.
As it turns out, being there for the first and the last show proved to be a wise decision. The Friday night show was just another helping of dessert. The hard part is facing the fact that now I have no more shows to look forward to, something to which I had become quickly accustomed. But greediness has never been something to which I aspire, so I am grateful for the Yoshi's run. It was incredible.
Normally, I would tell you what shoes he was wearing, as well as a few other fashion comments, but I recently read a bunch of rants about how silly some of the posts on this board used to be. I am guilty of being silly and quite proud of it I might add. I love to have fun, I love the electricity that can be found at a great concert, and I have always loved to share any and all of it with anyone. So, if you want to know what he was wearing, button status, and/or shoe commentary, you will just have to send me a private message, lest I offend some of the more cultured consumers of these posts. Hey, some people like to talk gear, others enjoy attire. De gustibus non disputandem est.
With respect to your RF attire respective posts, you should keep them coming, IMHO. It is this type of idiosyncrasy that makes us all individual, interesting, & fun (yes, that includes Blobby).
As the saying goes, "you can't please all of the people, all of the time", but I am sure many of us are pleased to have you gracing the pages of this board.

good to hear from you mate!
Now, I could try and be smart and say that the P.S. statement of mine was wax lyrical, but I have to admit it wasn't. This highlights the fact you work at a school, albeit as a music teacher!!!
Anyway Ron, I would love to come over and see your band on the 1st. I will make it my mission.

Elizabeth, don't let the few dictate what you want to communicate about. I once stopped playing a song because one guy told me he didn't like it. After a while the bass player asked me why we wern't playing it any more, and I had to remember that incident! Talk about what you want. I'm sure there are more of us that enjoy it than those that don't, besides having a woman's perspective on things.

I used the example of shoes and attire posts to try to describe other sillynessessess (?) in the past to someone who was rather displeased with a current sillyness of which I was a part of and not ashamed of either. So, please, most definitely, do not surpress any of your inner desires to post fashion. As previous replies have said, go right ahead- we want you to! It's been much too long since the last report...
I agree, I've always thought Elizabeth's postings to be fun and interesting. I personally found her insights into Robben's wardrobe very endearing and I think it gives character to the board.
Please don't cap your natural flow Elizabeth.
p.s. Don't fail in your mission DD! If you have any other boutique pedals lying around you'd like me to road test I'd be more than happy

Jeez, you guys make me blush. Okay, Sunday night he wore a black shirt that had appliqued red flowers all down his left arm, the first (at least) three buttons were unbuttoned, as the sleeves always are, black jeans and black boots.
And DAMN IT, when will the world get it that English/History teachers do not go around looking for grammarical mistakes or historical inaccuracies? If you see your dentist at a restaurant, does he or she ask you to open wide, or rinse and spit?????? And would you, if they did? NO, you would find a new dentist!
If you see your hairdresser at a store, do they look at your hair and exclaim, "Tsk, tsk, tsk?" Does your plumber walk around town with one of those snake things always with them, ready to deal with any plumbing hazard? You get my drift. (By the way, I only correct those kinds of things when I do not care for the message or the person who wrote it. Hee hee. Snicker snicker.)
Seriously, I'm relieved to know that I was not bugging the s#%@ out of the board with my silly posts. For those of you who have been around for a long time, that whole thing actually started out as a joke. Then, at the Santa Cruz Blues festival, Robben wore the most gorgeous shoes (okay, so I notice shoes) which you can see in a photo of on my website. I mentioned them on the board, and a whole new bizarre strand was created, much to the dismay of some curmudgeons. But hey, f*$# them is they can't take a joke!''And if you have been around that long, you might notice that I had to change the name of my photograph where I am hugging the Dumble. My principal told me he thought, "Woman Fondling Amplifer" was most inappropriate. Pfffffff!
Rehearsal tonight...my band has a gig Saturday night, and I am already beginning to feel ill. Performance anxiety (the essay describing that also was taken off my site, again at the insistance of my principal.)
